Weekly Catchup

This week has zipped by like a bullet train. I seriously can't believe it's Friday already. I've been working - on another first draft (a novella). It's set in the Psy/Changeling world but a few centuries back from Slave to Sensation. More to come on that later.

Tell me your news people. What's happening in your corner of the world?

I finally had my babies (although that was 3 weeks ago), Sydney is finally getting some rain, and the mid-year sales have begun.

Well, I just finished Slave to Sensation and really enjoyed it! I've had it on my TBR pile forever and now I'm hunkering down with Visions of Heat. Thanks so much for the great read!!!!

Kat - huge congratulations!! You must be a busy, busy woman!

Larissa - good luck with the job. That book sale sounds fun.

Barbara - no, it's a bit further back. This one's set in the time of the Territorial Wars (18th century). I don't know if the wars are mentioned in StS/VOH but they definitely are in Mine to Possess. So it's a historical!! Something new for me. Let's see how I do. Wish me luck!

Shelly, thank you so much. Hope you enjoy VOH! :)

Thanks, Nalini! :-) If you ever visit Sydney, you should totally see if you can have a signing at Galaxy. I'm sure they staff will recognise you, because they have customers (ahem, ahem) who tend to pre-order your books before they're even in the computer. :-)

Congratulations kat o+!

I joined the myspace craze this week ~ pretty awesome... getting in touch with some old friends (and, of course, current friends).

We've been putting some hard-core time into painting the outside of our house this week too. I love scraping but I hate painting... *shrug* go figure.

It's been a very stressful week at work and the first part of next week won't be much better. On the bright side, I'm giving my notice on June 21st. I'm going back to school after 10 years and I'm so psyched!

Congrats Kato+
Good Luck Larissa
Bookqueen that's so brave, hope it works out well for you.
Ashley hair sounds funky!

I'm not a big fan of historicals but my interest is piqued Nalini you're a tease!

I'm debating taking it easy or catch-up on the housework at the mo. you can guess which is winning. Went out with girls from work last night I offically can't bowl to save my life and it's now public knowledge! um yay me.

It's a nostalgic week for me. My son is officially a second grader and my daughter is starting Kindergarten this fall.

Other than that, just working and reading. And going to karate. LOL

Kat - you never know - it's not too far after all :)

Ange - happy painting. That's hard work.

Ashley, wow. I can't imagine it. You'll have to post pics somewhere!

Bookqueen - commiserations on the stress but sounds like you have something awesome to look forward to :)

Clare - I live to tease *g*

Casee - I tried karate once but I'm way too uncoordinated LOL

Ashley - 12"??? Wow! That's brave! Is that your actual picture here in the blog? 'Cause I'm wondering how pink would show up in dark hair like that. Sounds very interesting! Can you post a pic?

Thanks Nalini. We were out painting early this morning and finally quit about 7pm so I'm so sore & tired (I stink too since it was so muggy but we won't talk about that).

But I'm having a VERY VERY HAPPY Friday to round out my hard-workin' week. I received my Soul Song ARC (by Marjorie M. Liu) in the mail today!

Woohoo!!!!

So that will occupy me for about... oh, 2 hours tonight. LOL!

Not much is happening in my world...still. *sigh* But my weekend starts at 4 this afternoon. Yay me! :)

Nalini-I do have a question for you. How do you come up with titles? I think that's the hardest thing for me to do when it comes to my stuff. Could you give me a clue? I'd certainly appreciate it. :)

Yea my icon here is a pic of me. I just added pics of my new hair at my blog :D

Kaitlin - oops, missed your question earlier. Titles sometimes come easy, other times hard. Like with Slave to Sensation, it's a line in the book and I just loved it.

Other times, it takes me ages and I make other people brainstorm with me. Here's a tip that I use: Make up a list of words that pertain to your book. Then mix and match. That's how I came up with CBI I think. I knew Ice had to be in the title and I kept putting words together until I had something I liked!
