It's time for the Friday Book Club! What reads are you loving this week?
A while ago I did a Facebook post asking readers to vote for Angels' Blood in New Zealand bookstore chain Whitcoulls Top 100 list. I said that if it made it onto the list, I’d take photos in Whitcoulls stores complete with wings? Well, it has begun!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for voting!! I can’t believe that my 2009/2010 (international) book baby is on the list!!
Huge thanks also to Lucy from Whitcoulls St Lukes Mall (Auckland) who was so welcoming and asked me to sign all the Guild Hunter books they had in stock. Go grab your signed copies before they run out!
In case you were wondering, I was not the least bit normal while taking these photos. See pics to get a few glimpses of my shenanigans.
More photos to come over the year, because these wings, they’re traveling.
Join Nalini and fellow author Chris Blake, in conversation with novelist Fiona Sussman, discussing their thrillers, Such a Perfect Family and Softly Calls the Devil. Happening on Thursday 6th August at 6:30pm at Glenfield Library, Auckland. This is a FREE event but registration in required.

A pic from my most recent adventure around New Zealand. There was hiking involved. I have to say the views made it worth the effort! What’s your idea of a fun vacation…and does it involve hiking boots?
Alt Text: Detective Notes. Date: Dec 3rd. Time: 08:10. Subject: Second interview with Jason Musgrave. Man immediately began to shout that if hte accident was suspicious, we needed to look at "that f**king Romeo who conned her out of at leas a quarter of a million! He probably thinks he's in her will!" Per Jason, the name of the "Romeo" is Tavish Advani. Detective Notes. Date: Dec 5th. Time: 20:18. Subject: Case Status. Forensic mechanic refuses to speculate on anything to do with the Musgrave vehicle, but he did admit that he's already spotted signs of tampering. Case is now a homicide in my books. Perez agrees. Detective Notes. Date: Dec 21st. Time: 14:27. Subject: Lunch with Detective Gina Garcia. Gina did look at Advani as a suspect in the Jocelyn Wai case. Off the record, she stated that "If he did it, he a brilliant psychopath. Scariest thing is he was only twenty-three when Jocelyn died. If you're right about him being involved in Virna Musgrave's death, that's two women in the space of, what, three years? What's the word for an unmarried black widower?" - Uncover the truth in Such A Perfect Family.
Meet Tavish Advani. Handsome enough to be a movie star. Sweep-you-off-your-feet romantic. And with a fatal track record in love...
Huge thanks to Tony Mauro (art) and Rita Frangie (design)!!

Alt text: Wild Woman Magazine "Scary but Sexy" Column with image of blue-toned book cover with man and woman's face in silhouette and image of Golden Gate Bridge in background and words Nalini Singh, Storm Echo (available now). Next to book cover text: Ivan Mercant: Telepath, 6.2, black hair, killer blue eyes and ice-cold sexiness. Here's the tea, wild women. This fine specimen of manhood has long floated under our radar. How, we do not know. The man is so hot that certain bear ladies were willing to risk freezer burn to get close to him. And it is thanks to our lovely bear readers in StoneWater that we now have knowledge of Mr. Ivan Mercant. They tell us that he attended their alpha's mating ceremony to another Mercant (covered in our special mating issue!), slayed many a heart, and left without a backward look. Oh ouch. We know you're all wondering about the scary part of this. Word is he's a security specialist - and that the bear dominants confirm they wouldn't pick a fight with him unless they meant it. Because the man doesn't play if you come for him or his. Wild Women, can we say swoooooooooon?
