Stationery Addiction

I went out to run some errands the other day and decided to stock up on pens. (I use up several while editing a manuscript.) Then I entered the stationery store.

End result: Ten pens for editing, ten sparkly pens (in all different colors!) and a whole set of post it notes (orange, pink, yellow, blue, green and even purple).

I'm pretty sure I have more fun stationery shopping than clothes shopping. Any other stationery addicts out there?

*twitch twitch* Did you mention stationery?! The sad thing is that I barely send letters anymore, so it's harder and harder to justify buying it... I'm a sucker for a good medium point black gel pen that doesn't skip or blop or dry out.

*hand shoots up* Me!

I have a bunch of notebooks, notepads and sketchbooks in various sizes and styles that I seem to keep buying...the majority of them are still empty but that hasn't stopped me from buying new ones...

And I have numerous black fine point Sharpies...and a few other types in black...and one fine point one in red.

I also have a pack of small binder clips 'cause they were on sale and they're so spiffy and useful...not that I have any use for them...

OMG I feel the same way!! I swear back to school stationary shopping is the reason why I became a teacher!!!! I made sure to always have a good excuse to buy new pens and Post-its for every season!!
I also want to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE your books. I can't wait for "Branded by Fire" to be released. Please keep them coming!!

I make greeting cards and other papercrafting items,so that's a big fat yes! I collect cardstock more than stationery but I use it to make my own personalized stationery in addition to cards. My 5yo is a sucker for spiral bound notebooks and a pack of pens. If I want to make her day, I bring home a 10 pack of ink pens. My 7yo is a little artist and prefers markers and colored pencils with a sketch pad, but she's a paper fiend too.

Love all types of shopping!!!!
I try not to enter stationary stores because I always see some new, really cool looking items like glittery pens and...and...*list goes on forever*. Thing is, something is ALWAYS on sale, even if the item isn't useful at all. *sigh* I need to fix my addiction with things on sale. Can't wait till Branded by Fire!

Office supplies!

Post it pads in different colors and sizes... index cards, ditto... notebooks, ditto (I love the mini composition books!), pens, gel pens, highlighters, markers...

It's an addiction.

(no, I don't need no stinking twelve step program, thank you)

oh boy stationery...I have a weakness for sketch/notebooks, all shapes and sizes, mostly they end up half-used, but I can't help myself! I especially like the moleskine ones.

I have a container dedicated to holding my pens, one for markers, one for colored pencils and tons of spiral notebooks. I love the variety of permanent markers. the colors that Sharpe came out with, I actually use those on white gift bags for personalized gifts.

I am a pen/marker lovah lol

How about one of these? Or would one be enough? Maybe one for each room in your place Nalini, as one never knows when tape will come in handy! http://www.sweetspot.ca/national/

(I have one, but it is just sitting pretty in it's package... can't bear to use it!)

Me! Except for me, it's stickers. I dunno why. I never use them. But get me around stickers and it's pathetic.

I'm a sucker for a nifty looking, college ruled, notebook. I have tons of them, some empty, some not. My dad and I are both pen collectors so whenever we get together we trade back and forth. He even used to be a door-to-door pen salesman when he was younger. I have a favorite pen (well, until dad gave me one of those new Sharpie pens which are just awesome!) and the stores didn't sell it anymore so I had to go buy a box of 12 on ebay just to get them.

Oh, I also posted a review of "Angels' Blood" over on my Blogger site.

I'm with you! I love stationary but like others have said, since most correspondence today is via email, I can't justify the purchases. Although, I do stock up on cards...I love to send cards. Which means you MUST have different color pens to ensure color coordination...right? Right?? *twitch* *twitch*

Definitely! I love little notepads, notebooks, journals, things like that. I love a good blue ball point pen and fine tip sharpies. Post-it notes are a must and I actually use them all the time. I even keep a pad in my car for emergency notes... and I've used it many times! Twice in the last few days even. I just love those little colored ones that can be used as tabs. I use them to mark recipes in cookbooks or magazines, favorite parts in a book I'm reading (so I can find it and reread the passage easily), etc.

Does mentioning that my husband won't leave me alone in STAPLES (office supply store) mean anything. He drags me from stationery specialty stores. I have more kinds of blank note cards that should be legal. I still like to write notes to friends and snail mail them,

Christine - post-its are a necessity. I use those colored plain flags for SO much. They are incredibly useful and reusable!

Huh? It's an addiction? I thought it was normal. I recently bought myself a new fountain pen (cos I just looooove the way the ink flows onto the page when you write) because I couldn't get a *nice* blue ink for my existing fountain pen. I also bought every remaining box of turquoise coloured ink in the shop because I didn't want the same thing to happen again. And journals...I love journals.

Stationery!! *jumps up and down* I love my stationery. Officeworks is like a wonderland - I could just spend hours browsing, let alone shopping. This reminds me I need to get some ink for my printer soon - and have a little bit of a browse. I'll have to try and not buy the whole store.
