Angels' Blood Countdown: SJ Day - Eve of Darkness ARC

Winner: The random numbers have rolled and the winner of the Eve of Darkness ARC is Ashley! Ashley, can you please email me at nalinisinghwrites AT gmail DOT com.

5 days till the release of ANGELS' BLOOD! Here's what Shuzluva at Dionne Galace had to say about it:
I admit that I’m hesitant to start any new series..But I pressed on, and with some trepidation began to read. Then within the first two pages the Death Star Tractor beam moment happened, and I just couldn’t put the damn thing down...The Angel/Vampire world is a place I’m looking forward to visiting again…SOON…what a great start to a new series!

Today the countdown continues with an ARC of SJ Day's Eve of Darkness, the first book in her Marked series.
I've just started reading this and I'm find it a sexy, action-packed ride!

Check out t
he blurb:
For Evangeline Hollis, a long-ago fling with a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks just became a disaster of biblical proportions. One night with a leather-clad man of mystery has led to a divine punishment: the mark of Cain.

Thrust into a world where sinners are drafted to kill demons, Even knows her learning curve must be short. A longtime agnostic, she begrudgingly maneuvers through a celestial bureaucracy where is a valuable but ill-treated pawn. She's also become the lastest point of contention in the oldest case of sibling rivalry in history...

But she'll worry about all that later. Right now, she's ore concerned with learning to kill while staying alive. And saving the soul she'd never quite believed she had.
Eve of Darkness releases April 28th, followed by Eve of Destruction in June, and Eve of Chaos in July. You can check out more info on the author's website.

To enter, just leave a comment with your answer to this question from PamK:
What is your most reread book? My addition: If you don't reread, what do you do with the books you really love? Do you still have a keeper shelf?

Well... Most read is CbI! I'm on my 3rd copy since the other two fell apart. LOL

After that, I would say CL Wilson's Tairen Soul series and Anne Bishop's Black Jewel Triology.

Marnie said...

All the JD Robb's - the entire series multiple times and then the first couple of Christine Feehan's carpathians and Karen Marie Moonings - Adam Black.

I don't reread books too often. I have read the Kim Harrison Series AND listened to it on audio book. My books that I love stay with me. All pretty like on my shelves.

KT Grant said...

I have been waiting for this book!
I would have to say Naked in Death by JD Robb is one of my most re-read. Also Slave to Sensation is up there :P

tetewa said...

I usually don't reread books as I have so many in my TBR pile to get to. My keeper shelf consists of my many autographed copies and my favorite series.

Leontine said...

I do have myself a keeper's shelf with my most prized posessions! My most re-read book is either: J.R. Ward with her 2-1 edition of Dark Lover and Lover Eternal or C.L. Wilson with Lord Of The Fading Lands

I don't reread a lot but I have a whole book shelf full of keeper books from Nalini to Kresley Cole, JR Ward, Lora Leigh, Kenyon, Hamilton, and a couple others.

The 2 books I have reread the most are The Throat by Peter Straub and Naked in Death by JD Robb. I dont have a keeper shelf since I keep most of my books unless they are falling apart or I didnt care for it. But I do try to group authors and similar books together as much as possible.

Blodeuedd said...

I have my keeper shelf of the books I loved, some I haven't read since the first time I rad them...but will enver part from them

There are so many awesome books being published, I usually don’t have time to reread a book. I do have many shelves with my favorites, though.

orannia said...

The majority of books that I buy I consider keepers - the rest I borrow from the library :)

As for what books I re-read - Mine to Possess and Slave to Sensation definitely. JR Ward's Lover Eternal, Loretta Chase's Knave's Wager and my two favourite medievals - Jennifer Landsbert's Knight's Move and Bettina Krahn's The Husband Test.

orannia said...

OOPS! Forgot to say - Eve of Darkness sounds very interesting :)

Wendy said...

I reread anything by my favorite authors - Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews.

Anonymous said...

I reread often. And not to sound like I'm trying to suck up, but StS and CbI are both dog-eared on my keeper shelf and I reach for them often.

A close second would be Stephanie Laurens Cynsters. Especially Devil, Vane and Rupert (Gabriel). Yum!

Third would probably be Leigh Wyndfield.

I haven't re-read in a reallllly long time, mostly because I have too many unread lol but I do love some that they go into my keepers "trunk" where they stay nice and safe until I can re-read them.

Wendy said...

And ooooh, Jim Butcher!! :)

My most reread book is a tie between Twilight, Moon Called, Dark Lover and Where the Red Fern Grows.

I have a keeper shelf and I only buy those books that I reread. Otherwise I'm a library addict.

Karin said...

I'm really looking forward to Eve of Darkness and the Marked series.

My most reread book is Persuaion by Jane Austen.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure I can say which I reread the most often out of all my books. But my top five are Slave to Sensation, Moon Called, Bitten (by Kelley Armstrong), Halfway to the Grave (by Jeaniene Frost) and Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Anonymous said...

My most reread books are probably the Harry Potter series. I generally reread all the books I own, but since the Harry Potter books were spanned over a number of years, I read them more to keep them fresh in my mind for the next one. And I used to try to spot clues to see what would happen in the future.

I have reread the Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas more times than I count. I've also read Ravished by Amanda Quick, Carnal Innocence & Naked in Death by Nora, Bet Me by Jen Crusie and Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase about a dozen times! I love re-reading my faves, it's the ultimate comfort.

Anonymous said...

All of the books by Dick Francis, minus one. I think I do a read through of them in publication order at least once a year. Actually, I believe I have more than one copy of some of the titles. :)

Anonymous said...

My favourite rereads is from autobuy authors like Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Ann Aguirre and Tamora Pierce. But I also have comfort reread books- Like Linda Howard, Now you see her and Sugar Daddy and Dreaming of you by Lisa Kleypas

Kat said...

Dragon Prince by Melanie Rawn. I think I've re-read it every six months or so since I was 14 (I'm now 26).

I don't re-read too often but I do have a keeper shelf where I keep all the books I really enjoyed and may want to re-visit at some point.

Lisa F. said...

I have reread the JD Robb series many of times and Twilight.

I do have bookshelves that I keep all my books on.

Spari said...

Mostly I've reread books by Patricia Briggs and Charlaine Harris.

Erika Powell said...

I have reread Travels with charley by John Steinbeck more than a dozen times. And I am constantly rereading the Harry Potter Books. My keepers that I don't reread are usually up on the shelf but I tend to borrow a lot from the library so I don't have a ton of keepers

Anonymous said...

It's a tie between Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole and The Rules of Seduction by Madeline Hunter. I just can't get enough of those books.

The Brunette Librarian said...

"Dark Lover" by J.R. Ward

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and then Lord of the Rings is a close second.

wow now that's a toss up... I believe Judith Mcnaught's Paradise, Lisa Kleypas' Dreaming of You and Laura London's The Windflower are my top 3 re-reads of all time

... but Kresley Cole's A Hunger Like No Other and Nalini Singh's Slave to Sensation are fast catching up!

I have a couple keeper bookshelves actually LOL... and some boxes in the closet . . ..

Bridget Locke said...

My biggest reread is Years by LaVyrle Spencer. I've read that book probably 30 times? Maybe more. I cannot begin to describe why I love this book so much. :) It just speaks to me, I guess.

Other than that, you, Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, etc. etc. I'm a big fan of rereading since I'm broke 99% of the time & can't afford to buy new books as often as I'd like. *sigh*

Jeanne Ryan said...

Right now, I'd say Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. Whenever I get stuck with what I'm writing, I read it and I'm back in the saddle.

twalls said...

Let's see, what books do I reread most...hmmm...I guess I would have to say Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. I haven't really been rereading a lot lately though, because I've been discovering tons of new authors I enjoy.

Unknown said...

I can't really pick one book that I've re-read more than others, but I do love to re-read Julie Garwood's historicals, some of Karen Marie Moning's books, and definitely Caressed by Ice :)

Anonymous said...

I don't reread, but I have keepers everywhere: on shelves, in tubs, in drawers, etc. You name it!

Pam P said...

My last re-read was Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase due to the re-release and talking about it with others. Also, for comfort reads, older titles I read some time ago of Jayne Krentz, or Julie Garwood.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard. This book makes me laugh :)

Anonymous said...

Hmmm. My most read book? Anita Blake series and Harry Potter is pretty high on the list as well.

Anonymous said...

My most reread book is Slave to Sensation, I love Sascha and Lucas. After that it's Dance with The Devil With the Devil (have I mentioned how much I love Zarek yet?). And my keeper shelf is actually pretty full and the collection keeps on growing.

Anonymous said...

The Magic of You by Johanna Lindsey

Donna said...

My reread books are Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. I actually haven't reread any others, since I keep finding books I haven't read and NEED to read.

I always keep the books I love/like. For some reason, I find it hard to depart with my books.

What keeper shelf? Don't you mean bookcases? *g*

My most reread book would have to be Mercury's War by Lora Leigh. I never get tired of the plot and storyline! Then right after I would say I reread Acheron several times too. =)

Anonymous said...

I usually don't have time to re-read my favorite books because I have a never ending TBR pile but once in a while I will re-read "Dancing with the Devil" by Sherrilyn Kenyon or "Lover Awakened" by J.R. Ward.

I have a keeper box with about 70 books in it. That's a small amount compared to the thousands I've read. I've never re-read a book, but I plan to. Some day.

The Cynster series by Stephanie Laurens is always my first choice. Elizabeth Lowell wrote a 3book series set in the medieval age period that I've read several times.

Anonymous said...

I don't re-read often, but on the occasion that I do, it's usually one of Sherrilyn Kenyon's DHs or one of my Jennifer Crusie books.

Anonymous said...

My most reread book is a series actually by Dorothy Gilman about Mrs. Pollifax. I do reread books quite often and I like this series so much that I read them again every year.

Unknown said...

My most reread books are probably the Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop. After that it's probably a toss up between Patricia Briggs's books, Lora Leigh's Breed series, and the Psy/Changeling series. I usually reread books out of each of those every time the author comes out with a new book.

Anonymous said...

My most reread book is Something from the Nightside by Simon R. Green. The books I really love have their keeper/shrine shelf. Although, those books I mostly reread but I get all paranoid in keeping it in pristine conditions.

My hands-down most read book is definitely Lilith Saintcrow's Working for the Devil. And I keep my books nice and safe in my many many shelves, but reread them like mad.

Darcy Jo said...

I have a few books I just read over and over and over. One is Skypirate by Justine Davis (oldschool), another is Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon, and the third is After the Night by Linda Howard. I reread all of my books frequently, but I could probably recite these three word for word :-D

Dannyfiredragon said...

I love to re-read, I think the most read would be either Natural Law by Joey W. Hill or Mine to take by Dara Joy

Zhye said...

I don't re-read a lot of books, in fact I never re-read any until a few years ago until I found my favorite book. The book that made me re-read for the first time was "Waking the Moon" by Elizabeth Hand. It's also the book I've read the most times. I love the characters, love the tone of the book, but most of all I love the reincarnation love story.

I love having books around whether I re-read them or not. It's comforting to know that I'll always have something to read no matter what's going on outside the house.

I have to say that most of the books that I have on my keeper shelves are the paranormal/urban fantasy books and I also have a lot of romantic suspense books. My most re-read books are Maggie Shayne's Wings In The Night series and Christine Feehan's early Carpathians books. I have been eagerly awaiting SJ Day's Eve books. Thanks for the contest.

I think my most reread book is Chronicles of the Kencyrath by P C Hodgell but it could be Memory by Lois McMaster Bujold. I reread books multiple times or sometimes just my favourite bits!

Anonymous said...

I do re-read but I try to wait months/longer between them.

The one I just recently re-read was A Taste of Darkness by Nina Bangs.

Anonymous said...

I love re-reading! Besides (obviously) your books, I love re-reading Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series, Karen Marie Moning Highlander and Fever series, JD Robb, JR Ward, Laurell K Hamilton.

Anonymous said...

I don't reread books as much as I used to because there are so many in my tbr pile. I have three huge tupperware containers that have my keepers in them; hopefully they will end up on shelves once I finish college and have more than just one room...
My most reread Is the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. Then it's JR Ward's Dark Lover, Lover Eternal, and Lover Awakened, Sarah McCarty's Promises series, and the Harry Potter books - depending on what I'm in the mood for :)

azteclady said...

Oh dear, I don't know that I can name *one* most re-read!

There are books I have read about once a year for... well, many years (Morning Glory for example) but there are some that I re-read whenever a new title in a series is coming out (sorta what I did for your Psy/Changeling novels last year)

I have a number of keeper shelves (bookcases... closets... erm... running out of space here)

FD said...

I think... the older Jennifer Crusie books published by Harlequin. Fast and funny, they're perfect re-reads for me.

I am a voracious reader and I wonder if I will ever get through all the books I have on my shelves. I keep every single book I get my hands on....I hope that one day I may be able to reread them.

When I reread, it's usually only part of the book. Favorite rereads are Feehan, Johanna Lindsey, some Harlequin Presents, Mary Balogh, Jaid Black, and Joanna Wylde.

I don't know that I have a most reread book, although slave to sensation is high up there. Unless I find a book really horrible I usually always reread even if its a page here and there. I reread all of my books constantly it just depends on what I'm in the mood for, romance, action/adventure, paranormal or any combo thereof.

Anonymous said...

i can't pick just one book, i have to give the name of a few authors that's the best i can do unless i want to write an essay on my most reread books so i'll start with christine feehan, lora leigh, nalini singh, sherri kenyon, sunny, tamora pierce, karen moning, patricia briggs, and c.l. wilson

I typically don't reread books, but I have recently developed a habit where I buy the audiobook version of a book if I particularly loved it so I can listen to it over and over again instead of rereading the book. :) So far I've read/listened to His Majesty's Dragons 6 times, Wicked Lovely 4 times, Ink Exchange twice, and Dune twice. There are others I want, but they are expensive and I am poor. D:

Since I have only been reading english for a few years now and a whole candyshop of books has opened up for me I don't have time to re-read. 95% of the books I've read I've kept so I have keepers-shelVES. I do have one all-time favourite: Passion by Lisa Valdez

Anonymous said...

I am a chronic re-reader. But I have to say that I've read the Twilight series more than any other one.

I've been so consumed with the slew of new books i've been introduced to lately that I haven't had time to reread anything. :(

The whole Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer has been my most recent re-read.
