Favorite Love Songs

First up, a public service announcement: Tomorrow's post with the winner of the ARC contest will probably be up late but it will appear, so keep an eye out. Secondly, if you won an ARC last time, it's in the mail, baby.

Onto today's post: Sara tagged me to do my five favorite Christmas songs, but I missed the tag in the madness before Christmas, so I'm going to do it now. But since Christmas is over, I'm going to change the tag to five favorite love songs.

Here goes:

1. The Rose - Bette Middler
2. Last Kiss - Pearl Jam (If you haven't heard this, it is the most amazing love song but fair warning, it will probably make you cry).
3. Slow Hand - Pointer Sisters
4. Ordinary People - Clay Walker
5. Friends and Lovers - I don't actually know who sings this!

Tag, you're it. What are your favorites? Spread the love (on your blog or in the comments - take your pick)!

Great question. It got me creating a new playlist as I was going through my list of songs.

So many to choose from, but here are five.

1. Fields of Gold - Sting (I actually prefer the version sung by Eva Cassidy.)

2. Sweetest Days - Vanessa Williams

3. Takes My Breath Away - Tuck & Patti

4. Beautiful in My Eyes - Joshua Kadison

5. First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Roberta Flack

Wow, this is a great question.

1. Piano in the Dark - Brenda Russell This is my all time favorite song. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

2. Up Where We Belong (from one of my all time fav movies - Officer and a Gentleman. I have watched this movie in French, German and countless times in English.) Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes

3. You're Still the One or Forever & Always - Shania Twain

4. You're in My Heart - Rod Stewart

5. Wicked Game - Chris Isaak

Wow, so many great songs.

Kathy - I'm with you on Takes My Breath Away (that's from Top Gun right?). :)

Susan - Wicked Game - I forgot about that but you're so right. I really like it too.

I'm not sure that I can come up with five. Not really a love song person. But here goes.

1 - Here with me - Dido

2 - Possession - Sarah Mclachlan (really not about love at all, if you listen to the lyrics)

3 - Blurry - Puddle of Mudd

4 - Beautiful Disaster - Kelly Clarkson (Ballad version)

5 - I Know Him by Heart - Vonda Shepard

Susan - thanks for posting Piano in the Dark, it's one of those songs I keep meaning to get, but keep forgetting.

I believe the song you're thinking of is "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin. The one by Tuck & Patti is a different song. It's a slow dance song or more of a ballad you would sing to your loved one.

I love that you've changed it to love songs......

1. What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life - written by Michel Legrand
2. Time in a Bottle - Jim Croche
3. The Way We Were - Barbara Streisand
4. Funny Valentine
5. You and I - Michael Buble

That's really bad; I hit a complete blank over love songs.

1. Everything I do ~ Bryan Adams
2. I would do anything for love ~ Meatloaf
3. The Power of Love ~ Jennifer Rush
4. I believe in a thing called love ~ The Darkness
5. I don't want to miss a thing ~ Aerosmith

1. Your Song - Elton John
2. Time in a Bottle - Jim Croce
3. How Deep Is Your Love - Bee Gees
4. Maybe I'm Amazed - Wings
5. Shameless - Billy Joel
And I so agree with the Joshua Kadison selection! Any song by him.

I am so glad you guys picked Jim Croche, his songs are amazing. I so had not heard Wicked Game in a long long time - and then on my drive home from the library it was on the radio. WOW!

Have a great New Years!

So many good songs - I'd forgotten a lot of these. Now I'm going to have to hunt up a copy. :)

Happy New Year!
