I just started Amanda Quick's Crystal Gardens. I'm a huge fan of Jayne Ann Krentz under all her pen names, so I'm really looking forward to diving in.

My most recent reads have been Fair Game by Patricia Briggs, and a reread of Absolutely, Positively by Jayne Ann Krentz. Both were fantastic!

Time to talk books!  What are you reading and loving at the moment? I recently reread Jayne Ann Krentz's Sweet Fortune - got to love Hatch!

Friday Book Club

I'm back home via a couple of days in Hong Kong! I have so many pictures and so many cool facts to share that I've decided to inflict a few on you all every Snapshot Monday for a little while.

I did tons of reading while I was gone, including several books I've been saving up to read like Obsidian Prey by Jayne Castle, Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs and Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James. All three were fantastic!

Silver Master - Jayne Castle

I'm a huge Jayne Anne Krentz fan, but you guys probably already knew that. I particularly love her futuristics, written under the Jayne Castle pseudonym, so as soon as I got my hands on Silver Master, I had to read it from cover to cover.

This book is part of Jayne Castle's Ghost Hunter series (set on the world of Harmony). Here's the blurb as on Amazon:

Cadence City matchmaker and para-resonator Celinda Ingram meets her match in security specialist Davis Oakes. On the hunt for the powerful relic that Celinda supposedly bought as a toy for her pet dust bunny, Davis must use all of his unique psychic abilities to try and wrest the ruby red object from the suspicious duo, keep his desire for Celinda in check-and keep them all safe from those who will do anything to possess the relic.

I loved it! I love Jayne Castle's characters, love the way they fall for each other other page by page, love her voice. It just sucks me in each time, and this was no different.

New Jayne Castle

I just found out that this is going to be released in August. I'm so excited! JAK's website says that this is part of the Ghost Hunter series but there's no other info yet. I can't wait until it releases - I love, love, LOVE this series!

JAK Keeper

I reread one of my keeper books the other day - Wildest Hearts by Jayne Ann Krentz. I'm a total JAK fan and I just found myself falling in love with this book all over again.

The hero, Oliver Rain, is so quintessentially alpha, and the heroine, Annie, is wonderfully likable. I think part of why I loved this book is that Oliver is so together...except when it comes to Annie. Got to love those strong men and the way they fall for their women. Sigh.

What are some of your keepers and why do you love them?

So last night I caved in to the new books calling out to me from the tbr pile and picked up Jayne Castle’s (a.k.a. Jayne Ann Krentz) Ghost Hunter. I have four words for you – Go Buy This Book! I love JAK’s futuristic paranormals set on Harmony and the newest installment didn’t disappoint.

There’s just something so sexy about a hero (Cooper Boone) who’s completely controlled on the surface but is a turbulent storm of emotion underneath. JAK writes these kinds of heroes so beautifully. Some of her Amanda Quick novels are my absolute favorite historicals for that very reason. Not only that, but the humor and lightness she brings into the relationships between her heroes and heroines are just magic.

Re Ghost Hunter, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t read any of the other books in the series. The books all stand alone and JAK provides a helpful foreword that very efficiently explains the world. Basically, its set on a colony of Earth that was cut off from the mother planet centuries ago. Harmony is a planet that was formerly occupied by an alien race, which left behind catacombs and cities. But the really cool thing about the planet is that over time, the colonists have changed and begun to display para-psi abilities. The ghost hunters are the most dangerous of these talents...and therefore the hottest. *g*

I recommend this book with no reservations. The only thing I’d wish for is that JAK would write more of the Castle books! You can go visit JAK’s website here, and she also participates in the group blog Running With Quills.
