Friday Book Club

I'm back home via a couple of days in Hong Kong! I have so many pictures and so many cool facts to share that I've decided to inflict a few on you all every Snapshot Monday for a little while.

I did tons of reading while I was gone, including several books I've been saving up to read like Obsidian Prey by Jayne Castle, Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs and Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James. All three were fantastic!

Now, your turn - what are your reading recs this week?

p.s. My in-box is overflowing, so apologies in advance for any late replies!

Welcome back Nalini! And aren't we having such lovely weather? /sarcasm

I'm in the middle of re-reading Janny Wurts' To Ride Hell's Chasm, which is one of my favourite fantasy novels ever! The phrasing is...unusual, but the imagery and emotions it evokes is.....*sits down* amazing!

Oh, and Snapshot Monday sounds great :)

Welcome back! So glad you had a wonderful time! Admit to being envious, but what else is new? lol

I haven't read much lately. On a budget-crunch. *sniffle* My next purchase will be Blaze of Memory. *sigh* So can't wait. I reread Branded by Fire the other day. I love that book, though CbI is still my favorite. :)

Welcome home Nalini!

I have Hunting Ground in my TBR pile which is seriously out of control at the moment. I have so many great books waiting for me. But that makes me happy!

I recently read "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater, it was such a beautiful story! I wanted to start all over again once I finished the last page.

Also "Intertwined" by the fabulous Gena Showalter. GREAT read!

I am also waiting for Blaze of Memory. To try to tide myself over, I have started Edge of Desire by Rhyannon Byrd...and will probably put Riley's story on the backburner to devour Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews before the next Psy-Changling novel is released.

Welcome home Nalini.

I just finished reading Blaze of Memory (I am lucky enough to get ARC from Dear Author). I do not intent to tease but the book is so good.

Hi, Nalini! Can't wait to see your pics! Glad you had such a wonderful time and caught up on some of your reading!
I'm currently reading Anne Gracie's "To Catch a Bride" It's good, but as I'm waiting for Kresley Cole's "Deep Kiss Of Winter" to be delivered any day (hopefully today!) I'm a little distracted.
And I simply can't wait for BOM to come out! Releases within weeks of two of my fave authors is almost more than a girl can take, hehe!

Welcome back Nalini, hope you are home safe and sound. Your trip sounded fantastic, hope it was even better than the pictures and snippets!

Hunting Ground was fantastic!

I've read this week, Wizard by Trade two of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files books; Summer Knight and Death Masks. Both were really good. I also have read Shiver and an interesting series called the Kitty Norville series about a werewolf DJ.

I have Intertwined on my TBR pile that I got from the library along with The Darkest Whisper.

I can't wait to see all your pics, especially the ones of Scotland and Ireland, birth place of my parents, but I've never been. Someday...

Hi Nalini..

Can't wait for blaze of memory, and loved Mercy and Riley!
I've just finished the fourth instalment of CL wilson's 'Queen of Song and Souls' and i'm really upset that I have to wait several months for the fith and final book. She leaves you on a cliff hanger..and you really want to know how Ellie and Rain find a way to rescue her parents and defeat the loathsone Vadid Maur, save the Fey and complete their Lifemate Bond!
The thing about her books are that you never really lnow wether any of the secondary characters that you know and come to love will make it to the end of the book..I look forward to receiving my next fix..I highly recommend the entire series starting with the 'lord of the fading lands' if you've not discovered this already.
