ARRA Brisbane & Sydney Events

 

What a lovely weekend! Thank you to everyone who attended the ARRA events in Brisbane and Sydney this weekend! It was such a delight to meet you! 

Can’t wait for the Melbourne and Perth events next week! If you missed out on full day tickets, you can still get tickets at the door for the afternoon signing sessions. 

I love how intimate these ARRA events are - definitely put them on your list if you want to chat to authors and fellow readers in a relaxed environment.

RARE Melbourne 2023

 

Team Nalini at #Rare23Melbourne! My first major signing in years and what a blast it was! So many amazing readers, entire suitcases of books signed, seeing familiar faces, and having first meetings with countless wonderful authors, bloggers, and readers.

Special shout out to Destinee at East City Bookshop who I have been doing online events with for years. It was so incredibly awesome to meet her in person! (New event coming in July!) 

From the left: My mum, who was only planning to pop in to take photos and stayed all of Sat to help out because y’all TURNED OUT! Ashwini, the bestest assistant in the universe (and the organized sister to my chaos monster), Trisha, the sweetest volunteer and queue wrangler, and Natasha, an amazing part of Team RARE who managed to be in ten different places at once. 

This was my first RARE event and it was so well organized and fun - brilliant job by the RARE team.

And a huge shoutout to my friend Shar for my banner design!

Now it’s back to my desk, clearing the decks and hunkering down to write.

Signed a few extras, so if you didn't get your preorder in, you can still grab a signed copy if you order soon. So begins the official countdown to the worldwide release! A great big thank you to all of the readers who made my first Canadian signing so totally awesome!! Now I'm going to expect a standing-room only audience at any future signings I do here! :-)

We did record the Q&A and so did a reader, so once one of the videos goes live, I'll post up the info.

Then, to top off my good mood this morning, I woke to find the Psy-Changeling series on NPR's list of 100 Swoon-Worthy Romances. Check it out - there are tons of great recommendations on the list!

Today and tomorrow, I'm holing up in my hotel room to finish the final proofs of Rock Redemption. It's already been edited and proofread professionally, but I like to do my own read before I turn over the manuscript for formatting, make sure no gremlins have snuck in.

Also, don't forget, the second excerpt from Archangel's Enigma goes up next week, August 4th.

I was on book tour in the Lower North Island of New Zealand last week. It was a lovely trip, with some amazing scenery! I thought I'd share some shots today.

Thank you to everyone who came to my events and to the booksellers and librarians who hosted me. You made it such a wonderful trip.

It was a gorgeous day when we flew down to Wellington (I was travelling with Ruby, from Hachette, my NZ publisher).

I was lucky enough to have the window seat, and I was so glad for that when we passed over Mount Taranaki. The view was incredible - I took the following photo out the window.

I think that was my favorite view of the entire trip - though passing through the Manawatu Gorge comes a close second!

But before we get to that, let me show you my signing chair at the Porirua Library. Isn't it amazing?! It was lovely and comfortable too!

We passed through some beautiful country on the trip. I took the shot below from the car - the wind turbines in the distance were going at full speed, it was so windy.

The Manawatu Gorge was incredible! This photo doesn't do it justice. The big double-cab truck in the distance gives you some idea of the scale of the gorge.

I hope you enjoyed the little trip through part of New Zealand!
