Monday

I cannot believe it's April already. What happened to the first three months of the year? Anyone watch Heroes? Wouldn't it be great to have Hiro's power to bend space and time (but in a more controlled way!). Though being able to fly also appeals. Hmm, choices, choices.

We've just had episode 7 of Heroes in the UK, for those who've got satellite and cable. It doesn't come to terrestrial until later in the year.

And I'd choose telekinesis. :)

I think we're up to around the same number in NZ. We get it on free tv (yay!) but that's because we only have like three channels LOL :)

It's on tonight!

I have been DEPRIVED of Heroes for the last couple of weeks. It won't come back on until April 23. And, OMG, how they left it! I can't wait to see what happens next. This is the best show I've seen in a LONG time. Actually, it's pretty much the only show I watch.

Although, for you vamp lovers, I have been watching Blood Ties on Lifetime lately. It just started a few weeks ago. HOT vamp dude. Young, but hot. It's supposed to be based on the Tanya (sp) Huff books, but I haven't read any of them. I don't know how widespread Lifetime is, though.

BTW, Nalini, how are you feeling? Did the cough go away? I hope so.

I'm hoping Blood Ties will get picked up by a UK station, but haven't heard anything yet. I have read the books but I'm not so attached to the characters that if they changed them a little I wouldn't mind.

I was worried that I wouldn't like The Dresden Files - I love the books. But I think they have caught the spirit of Harry and Bob. And it's now one of my favourite programmes.

Lesley! What happens in the books? Do they ever come to a conclusion? I'm very curious.

I'm patiently awaiting for Apr 23rd to come too,Heroes is addicting. I'm watching Blood Ties and thats really good, plus there's Dresden Files to watch too and that free online at scifi.com,but I think they only have the current episode of each week on there.

Neither Blood Ties nor the Dresden Files has made it here yet so I'm waiting with baited breath!

(Jennifer - yep, it's history!) :)

Jennifer - the Tanya Huff books or the Dresden Files?

The Dresden Files have a kind of ongoing arc.

The Blood Books by Tanya Huff, it's been a while since I read them, but there wasn't really an ongoing arc. They were more loosely connected than most series books are. Though characters developed from each novel to the next.

I think there are five full length novels (turns round checks bookshelf) yep 5. And then there were four more stories (the Blood Quartet) released in an anthology.

In the What Ho! anthology Tanya Huff says that there will be no more Blood Books, though one of the characters from that series was spun off into his own series in which Henry Fitzroy (the vampire) also appeared.

Lesley, the Tanya books. I don't care as much about the Dresden files. I couldn't get into the TV series.

In Blood Ties, is there ever a conclusion? I doubt the book series will go along too closely to the TV series. After all, there will hopefully be many more TV episodes than there were books. I just want to know what happens with the heroine and Henry. Do they get together or is it she and the detective/former lover? Or, nobody? I like a happy ending.

They weren't really romance it's more that nobody gets together, from what I remember. Though it has been quite a while since I read them.

But that could be one of the things they've changed for the tv show.

That doesn't mean the ending was sad though, it just didn't end up with a romantic relationship.
