New Authors

I walked into a bookstore. The result was inevitable. 📚 :) I got the new Mary Balogh and a book by a new-to-me author, Ashley March.

Have you tried a new-to-you author lately? Any great discoveries?

I really enjoyed Piper J Drake's Extreme Honor (True Heroes #1). I have another one of her earlier books in my TBR, but this was the first book I'd read by her.

Tried Robyn Wideman, particularly the dragonblood saga books, cause dragons!

Really enjoying her world.
She does have other books out, but only tried Lyric's curse, and reading Sisera's gift currently.

Making Faces, by Amy Harmon. Heartbreaking but beautiful story about post 9/11 Iraq veteran coming home scarred for life , physically and mentally.
Finding the mousy high school girl he left behind might be just the one he needs to heal.

Joined Kindle Unlimited as Christmas present for me this year and
found Georgia Cates, Terri L. Austin, Leigh James, Carian Cole, and A M Madden to name a few of my new favorites. Some of their books are free to KU members and it is a great way to find new authors. I highly recommend them all for different reasons. I've reread some of the books almost as many times as Heart of Obsidian!

Just found Alanea Alder's Bewitched & Bewildered series. Loved the world, romance and humor!

Totally agree with you on Alanea Alder. Am impatiently waiting for her next release in June.

I've come across a few lately, as I took voluntary redundancy from a boring job and recently went on holiday so doing lots of reading. Nalini recommended Kay Hooper on this site when I was looking for physic books for my holiday. Love the first few so many thanks for the recommendation. By book 9 they were getting a bit samey, so I have given those a rest for a while. I'll go back to them when I am a bit fresher.

Then out of desperation picked up Illona Andrews Magic Bites (for the tenth time) and finally made it past the first third of the book which I found really dragged. End result: totally hooked, blitzed through all of them in a week. They are brilliant!! Although I am firmly of the impression that Kate Daniels is insane, but you have to read as the voice in my head is going "what is this lunatic going to do next?" Loved these books, who thinks about a vegetarian, blind siberian tiger. Genius.

I'm away to check out the names listed above, I always get good recommendations on this site. Someone previously recommended Robin D Owens and she is great also.

I am now a major Mariana Zapata fan. Her books are slow burns but oh so worth it.

I don't even know where I ran across the author - could have been amazon, or one of the blogs, or the book club posts... but yesterday I just picked up Stolen Songbird by Danielle Jenson...who I've literally never heard of before! And I'm really loving it so far. :)

I use to read Kasey Michaels' books a long, long time ago, but gotten out of reading her books. I picked up a couple of her books since it's "brand new" reading foroom me. Really like her books.
