Angels' Blood TV Debut & Friday Book Club

First up - these wonderful people are hosting the Blaze of Memory book tour for me today. Come on over and say hi :-)

Now, news! There was much excitement over on these shores last night - Shortland Street is a great NZ drama that plays weeknights. Yesterday, Angels' Blood was used on the show as a prop!

But it wasn't simply sitting on a shelf or a table - the characters had a book club on the show, and guess what book they were discussing? It was completely awesome to see the book onscreen :-). (NZ folks can catch the episode online.)

Thank you, Shortland Street! I also have to give a shoutout to everyone behind NZ Book Month, especially Michele, for making this happen.

Now, onto our own book club. What've you been reading this week? I finished Nora Roberts' Black Hills and really enjoyed it (I can't wait to get my hands on Bed of Roses, the second book in her bridal quartet). I've also been reading a number of advanced copies of books to see if I'd like to blurb (recommend) them. Okay, your turn!

p.s. Also just saw this! Bwahahahaha!!

Really? That is so cool! Congrats! Now I wish I watched Shortland Street...my SIL and niece do...I wonder if they noticed?

As for books, well I just discovered a new favourite author - Juliet Marillier. She writes fantasy-type novels that weave in Celtic mythology and folklore. I just finished reading Heir to Sevenwaters and I simply adored it! Plus, even better, considering it is NZ Book Month, Juliet Marillier is a New Zealander! And on the even brighter side...there are so many of her book for me to gloom *hugs self*

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Wow! I'd love to see that. *sigh*

I'm not doing a lot of reading right at the moment. I'm kind of broke. :(

But, I plan on buying the latest in PC & Kristin Cast's House of Night series tomorrow (pay day!). Other than that...nada. *sniffle*

I saw it, Nalini! I got very excited about it too. It's nice that Shortland street does things like that, supporting New Zealand artists.

I was eating my dinner late, heard Yvonne talking about Angel's Blood and the whole forbidden love thing and nearly choked on my chicken I was so thrilled :D Very cool!

I am finishing off the Chintz and China series by Yasmine Galenorn, just loved this series so far, and all the books have been re-released with beautiful covers. Next up is Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Nalini you have me hooked on Angels now :)

Hi Nalini,

That is so neat that your book was used on a TV show.

I am currently reading "Desperate Duchess" from Eloisa James.

Hey congratulations on Angel's Blood.
Right now I'm reading Lynn Viehl's Shadowlight and enjoying it, next I'll be reading Lindsay Sands's Rogue Hunter and hopefully by then I'll have found a copy of Blaze to read.
Have a great weekend!

Wow! Your book was discussed on a TV show? That's so cool! And what great publicity for you, too ;).

I just finished reading Laurell K. Hamilton's Skin Trade and I'm starting my re-read of Moning's Faefever so I can finally read Dreamfever this weekend. ABout time, but it's going to make a perfect Halloween read with its mysterious and dangeorus atmosphere :)

The Shortland Street appearance for Angels' Blood is FANTASTIC!!! I can't imagine how that must feel.

I know when I'm out and about in public or blog world and hear people discussing books or characters I've read it almost feels like their talking about a mutual friend! I'm always amazed at how passionate book lovers are - a scowling stranger in an airport all but glows when you ask about the book their holding - and then you launch into the "have you read..." and a connection is formed!!

Congrats!

I finished Bitter Night by Diana Pharoah Francis and just loved Max. I recommend highly. It has a nice twist on witches and Shadowblades.

I loved the Nora Roberts but having a bit of trouble getting into C.L. Wilson's newest story.

Regards, Ruth

Can we catch it here in the US? (I'm going to have to go search on youtube now).

I finished Lover Avenged this week and I have to say I loved it! I wasn't sure what to expect because I was seriously disappointed in Phury's book. Rehv's story is just as delicious as Rhage's was (the best in the BDB series, in my opinion).

I have the next House of Night, Tempted, Deep Kiss of Winter, Bed of Roses, and Bengal's heart all in my TBR pile, hopefully I'll find a little time to read this week since I know I will be adding Blaze of Memory, too! Everything comes out at once!

I'm going tonight to pick up the new Elizabeth Hoyt book. It's the end of her current series. I always have mixed feelings about the last book in a good series. Part of me feels satisfied that I'm finishing up something that I've really enjoyed, but the other part is sad that it's ending.

Re-reading Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs. Next is re-reading (already) The Mane Squeeze by Shelly Laurenston. I just love her books. Also anxiously awaiting Blaze of Memory by you :)and Heart Change by Robin D Owens. Unfortunately I promised myself I would put them on the stack to be read while I'm out stuck at home after surgery. That's Nov 12 so I might actually be able to stop myself from reading them until then...Maybe.

I'm reading Demon Angel by Meljean Brook and really enjoying it so far. :)

I'm not a fan of Shortland Street, but just had to go to the TVNZ website to watch the episode (episode # 4364) online. Great publicity for you Nalini, especially as the characters on Shorland Street also discussed Angels' Blood.

Have been on a historical binge recently, thoroughly enjoyed Elizabeth Hoyts' To Taste Temptation, Stephanie Laurens' The Untamed Bride and several Jenna Petersen and Elizabeth Boyle books.

Love the new excerpt, Nalini! I can't wait to get my hands on the next Archangels book. Raphael is such an interesting foil to Elena. I mean, she needs a strong mate, but, dadgum, you made him DARK! Whoo-hoo! I can't wait to see what sparks fly between those two.

Have a great weekend.
