Winner: Hostage to Pleasure Release Contest

Thank you to everyone who entered the HtP Release Contest. I had fun reading who you'd like to hold hostage and vice versa.

And now, without further ado, the random winner of the US$75 gift certificate to an online bookstore of her choice is:

Congratulations, Bridget!

How about we give Bridget recommendations for which books she should buy with her winnings! :)

Congratulations Bridget! I was gonna recommend Kresley Cole, but I see you're already a fan. You can have Cade, but can we tag team and capture Conrad for me? *g*

A brief glance at my keeper shelf doesn't give me many ideas for recs, being the impossible-to-please gal that I am - but if you haven't already, I'd urge you to read The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe - the rest of the series (so far) wasn't in "keeper" territory for me, but the first installment is nothing short of enchanting. Oh, if you want a sweet and heartwarming read with a hero TO DIE FOR, try Kiss of the Highlander. It's a Scottish time travel caper - not in the epic league of, say, Outlander, but a real comfort read for me. :D

Congratulations Bridget! Hmmmm...all those books and my mind has gone absolutely blank Working within normal parameters then :)

I look forward to hearing what you've bought!

Life is so unfair. There were NO copies of HtP at my local bookstore. Aargh! Now I will have to go to Barnes and Noble (which is my least favorite bookstore). Throw me a pity party.

PS Congratulations to Bridget!

Congrats!!! My recommendation(s) Shelly Laurenston's "Pack Challenge", "Go Fetch" and "Here Kitty Kitty" (hysterically funny and sexy)

Patricia Briggs' "Cry Wolf"

Ann Aguirre's "Grimspace" and "Wanderlust"

All very good reads. And I second daphne's suggestion of "The Smoke Thief"; that was a very sexy book.

Oh, and Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series. Those are some very good books (in my humble opinion).

And some non-paranormal: anything by Linda Howard, Julie Garwood and Nora Roberts.

Whoot! Oh, wow! Thanks, Nalini.

Recommendations would seriously be good. :) I've got so many books I've already read, so I'm trying to think of something new. :)

Daphne, I've read Shana's books & heart them, big time. :) She's amazing.

Lessee...I've read all of Julia Quinn's stuff, Lisa Kleypas, Patricia Briggs, etc. etc. etc. And of course, all of Nalini's stuff. *sigh*

What to do? What to do? :)

Congratulations!

Hmm, since most of my favorites have already been mentioned, I'll recommend my new author discovery - Larissa Ione's "Pleasure Unbound." I can't wait for the second and third books due out March and April 2009.

Congratulations, Bridget! You'll have to let us know what you order so we can live vicariously thorugh you!. LOL

I recommend preordering the Insider's Guide to the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. It releases on october 7th and has really cool stuff: interview with the Brothers and other characters, what the Old Language looks like, maps of Caldwell, and a novella-length story about the birth of Zsadist and Bella's daughter Nalla.

29 days until it comes out!

Congrats chica!!!! I am soooo jealous! As for my recs, alot of great authors have already been mentioned.....Kresley Cole, Jacki Frank (Nightwalkers Series), Karen Marie Moning (great Celtic series!!). But how about Christine Feehan (Carpathian novels, Ghostwalker series), Lynn Viehl (Darkyn novels) JR Ward, (Black Dagger Brotherhood), and I would be remiss if I didn't mention one of my absolute favs (the author goddess herself....)Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series! BTW, if you haven't read the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer....you should! ;-) OMG! I could go on and on and on...

Lucky girl! You go, Bridget!

I'm with mariana on suggesting Shelly Laurenston. She also writes as G A Aiken and the latest book under that pen name is Dragon Actually. Quite good.

Ummm... Alexis Morgan or Alyssa Day, if you haven't already discovered their books.

Also, I found an author that I quite like, but I can only buy her books electronically. Leigh Wyndfield. She has a series of "Heat" books... In Heat, Desert Heat, Icy Heat, etc. I like to download the Mobipocket format and can read them on my computer or on my Palm pilot. Nalini once suggested the BooksOnBoard website and totally got me hooked. (And I am still irritated that I can't get StS or VoH electronically. I've even e-mailed your editor, Nalini, to complain - not that it's done me any good.) *g*

Hey! There are no HtP in my lunch-time local bookstore (haven't been able to get to home local bookstore)

My book recommendations (madly referring "read" list):
* You must read C.L. Wilson's Tairen Soul series (book 3 out next month!)

* Meljean's Guardians series is great too (but I think you've already read that one)

* Anton Strout's Dead to Me was great too

* You have to have Anne Bishop's Black Jewels Trilogy (and rest of her books too)

* Elizabeth Vaughan's Warlands series good too (Keir... *sigh*)

Congrats Bridget!!

Try Jory Strong...Dawn Ryder or Shayla Black. Those are all good.
