Weekly Catchup

How's everyone been? I've had a very disrupted week so today is all about focus, focus, focus!! What about you guys? Read any good books lately?

In preparation for me getting hold of Night Lost (Darkyn #4) I've re-read the first three books in the series - just finishing up number 3. Definitely one of my favourite vampire series.

And my broadband is back (hopefully for good), so I'm back to Internet surfing :). Which is bad for my writing. :(

I shouldn't be reading at all as I'm staring down the barrel of a deadline, but stand out books for me this week were Linda Howard's Nocturne "Raintree: Inferno" (although I did feel that it kind of raced to the end a bit) and Susan Napier's "Just Once" (released in New Zealand as Sexy Sensation.)

I'm looking forward to reading Jayne Ann Krentz's "Truth or Dare" which I got out from the library recently but haven't opened yet and Anna Campbell's "Claiming the Courtesan" which I bought a couple of weeks ago.

Yes.... the latest Penny Vincenzi 'An Absolute Scandal'; the latest Louise Bagshawe 'Glamour'; the latest Lisa Jewell '32 Dream Street'; the first in the new YA series by PC and Kristin Cast 'Marked'

Now I'm stuck in revisions, so I'm having to slow down on the reading!!

I've been re-reading The Trouble with Valentines Day by Rachel Gibson. Have you ever read a book and felt just blah about it. Then come back to it later and think it was a good read. Thats what happened with this book. I can only think that me reading a previous novel of hers See Jane Score which I totally loved kind of made me compare this book too closely and not give it a fair chance. Well I read it on its own and it made me laugh out loud. Who knew that time could make such a difference in how I feel about a book. So now i'm off to find more new reads.

I can't wait until this week is over.

My mum is visiting me so she has just been cooking, cooking and cooking so it means that I've just been eating, eating and eating, hahaha. I have also started Draw Down the Darkness by Naomi Bellis. Its kind of scary.

I'm reading Games of Command by Linnea Sinclair. Thanks for the rec!! It's really good so far.

About Lynn Viehl, I'm kind of disappointed that her Darkyn series hasn't gotten as much press as the other vampire paranormal romance authors. The Darkyn series is really good!

I'm planning on reading Darkyn #3 & #4 this weekend. I had dropped the series, but I read such a good review of #4 that I decided to give it another try. I read Jacquelyn Frank's Gideon this week. It didn't blow me away like the first one, but admit I rushed through the book. I was trying to read it in one sitting Tuesday night. So, I'll probably take my time and read it again. I have a week of vacation coming up.

Casee - did you hear that Night Lost made the extended NYT list, the PW list and the USAToday list?!!

I just finished "Angel's Fall" by Nora Roberts. It was really good.

I heard that it has been made into a Lifetime Original movie...don't know about that....
