I want to do a mini-poll today. We've all heard the stories that certain types of heroes (and less often, heroines) appeal more to readers, so let's put it to (a very unscientific) test.
Which do you prefer?
a) Fair haired heroes
b) Dark haired heroes
c) No preference
And what about heroines' tresses?
a) Blonde
b) Brown
c) Black
d) Red
e) No preference

Heroines: b+c only because otherwise the author tries to make her fit one of the many archtypes such as a fiery redhead or a bombshell blonde... ;)

Sorry I have been so busy. I like dark-haired brown-eyed heros... The heroines need to be red or blonde. :-) I like the fiery ones.
If they are brunette, you can put a little walnut streaks in the tresses. LOL

Hmmm, me personally? I think I'm slightly biased towards dark-haired heroes, too, but I have just written two fair-haired ones, so that might be changing. *G* I guess with heroes, it's the old association of tall, dark and handsome.
For heroines - no preference, though I like writing long hair better than short.
That is interesting - maybe a case of liking what we know?
Well, I am caucasian... VIKING.. LOL But my Dad is black Irish (at least he is dark-haired with blue eyes). Half of my brothers are tall, blonde with blue eyes.
So go figure.. My hubby is dark (now gray/white) with brown eyes. He is dark German.

I liked dark haired heroes, but my heroines can be anything.
I prefer dark haired heroes period. Dave Beckham is the only hot blonde I like, but even then, his is more of a dirty blonde.

I definitely prefer dark heroes. I very rarely find blond men attractive - they gotta have something special to be hot!
