A little bit of falcon-related news from our corner of the
world:
The Bird of the Year has just been announced and this year's
winner is the kΔrearea falcon. It is New Zealand's only falcon, capable of
speeds up to 200km/h.
(The Bird of the Year contest has been running for twenty
years and was started by Forest & Bird NZ to raise
awareness of the conservation threats to many endangered native birds.)
