Liked Veronica Scott's Star Cruise: Ghost Ship (Sectors #17.5) and Lorraine Hall's The Forbidden Princess He Craves as well as Lindsay Buroker's Driven by Destiny (Tracking Trouble #3) all of which I read the final week of 2023 . The first two didn't quite make my favorites for the entire year list (posted last week) though Driven by Destiny did.

This first week of 2024 my favorites have been Nicole Helm's Cold Case Kidnapping (Hudson Sibling Solutions #1) and Julie Miller's Sharp Evidence (The Precinct #44/Kansas City Crime Lab). I also enjoyed Rebecca Zanetti's Frostbitten (Deep Ops #6).

I reread the Shandowcat Nation series introductory novella, Hannah's Fate yesterday and am currently reading Abigail Owen's Andromeda's Fall (Shadowcat Nation #1) for the first time. My big reading goal for the year is to finish up her entire backlist including her psedonyms' books.

So the year is off to a very good start reading wise.

Just finished "the Coming of the HorseClans" by Robert Adams (Horseclans #1), originally published in 1975. I found it quite engaging, except for the sexism and resultant violence. I'll be starting #2 soon.

As for books I'm looking forward to, I'm not really sure. The usual new releases from my favourite authors, of course, and I seem to keep coming home from the library with stacks of nonfiction (that I have trouble actually making progress with once I get them home, 😂🤦‍♀️), so I'm sure there will be no shortage of interesting stuff to read. And that's not even counting the numerous books on my bookshelves (fiction and nonfiction) I'm hoping to make some progress with. (At least some of which hopefully won't be staying, so that I have room for more, later).

My most anticipated book is Primal Mirror.

Also looking forward to Jayne Castle's People in Glass Houses, L Penelope's Brutal Fortress, Hazel Beck's Truly, Madly, Magically, and Shannon Stacey's There's Only One Sleigh plus numerous others.

I limited my choices to 5 / only 1 per author or it would be a longer list.
