Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Lisa Kleypas?! I just read "Devil in Spring" and adored it. The smart and offbeat heroine was fantastic, and seeing the hero fall for her so hard and so openly made my romance-loving heart sigh.
Do you love historical romance? Who are your favorite authors?

I've been off of historicals for a bit now (feeling burned out).
But I do still enjoy Amanda Quick and Alissa Johnson.
I've also got a bunch of Julia Quinn, Tessa Dare, and Sarah MacLean in my TBR mountain in case I need an historical fix.
You're not the only one currently burned out on historicals, so am I. It tends to be every couple of years I am ready to read them again. Really have to be in the mood for them.
I also enjoy Amanda Quick (especially those based in the Arcane world) and am curious to see how her move to the 1930's goes. Not quite a hundred years ago so does it still qualify as a historical?
Another author I enjoy is Mary Balogh, mainly her Lost Lords series. A third choice would be Lynsay Sands. Her historicals always contain a lot of humour but if I read too many in a row they start to seem too similar (comedy of errors and poor communication).
Dinah Dean, Carola Dunn, Edith Layton, Laura Matthews, Elisabeth Fairchild, Emily Hendrickson, Paula Marshall, Lynn Kurland, Tamara Leigh, Carla Kelly, Susan Spencer Paul, Jodi Thomas, Carla Kelly, Susan Spencer Paul; because they're fairly clean reads but not boring.
There's also : Barbara Metzger, Julie Garwood (funny), Madeline Hunter (medieval), Sandy Blair, Tina St. John, Margo Maguire, Kinley Macgregor (Brotherhood), Donna Lee Poff, Mary Jo Putney, Lynn Stone, Dorothy Garlock, Katherine Kingsley, Ellen O'Connell, Jaclyn Reding, Lavyrle Spencer, Leigh Greenwood (western), Josie Litton (Akora), Anne Gracie, Hannah Howell (medieval), Christina Dodd (medieval), Shari Anton, Betina Krahn, Pamela Morsi (Ozark), Mary Balogh, Julie Beard, Jennifer Blake, Karen Ranney, Glynnis Campbell, Liz Carlyle, Kimberly Cates, Loretta Chase, Heather Grothaus (medieval), Karen Hawkins, Margaret Moore, Paula Quinn, Elizabeth Rolls, Deborah Simmons (medieval), Cheryl St. John, Suzan Tisdale.
I enjoy Amanda Quick, Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, Laurie McBain, Julia Quinn, Stephanie Laurens (mainly her early Cynster stories), and some of Eloisa James. Catherine Coulter use to write historical romances before she got into her FBI series.
Patricia S
Jennifer Ashley's McKenzies, Kimberly Truesdale and Anna Campbell for example. I read a lot of historicals in the past. Today, only if I'm in the mood for them.
P.S. Thank you for the newsletter Nalini. Loved the grumpy Hawke.
I looooove Lisa Kleypas!!! She's so amazing!!! Another of my favourite historical romance authors is Suzanne Enoch - her stories are definitely swoon worthy and her heroines pretty kickass
