Just finished reading "Like a Boss" by Adam Rakunas - sequel to his Philip K Dick nominated Windswept...

Now this is not romance... it's hard to define the genre - SF certainly but what exactly else I don't know.

The main character is one Padma Mehta and she kicks arse. The books are full of strong female characters saving the world of Santee Anchorage on their own. That's reason enough to love these books.

Re-reads of Rock Kiss and AOH. OFS serial by Ilona Andrews. Currently working on A Study in Sable by Mercedes Lackey, featuring Nan, Sarah, Neville, and Grey visiting 221 Baker Street, Flat C. And yes, the downstairs neighbor smokes meerchaum pipes and plays the violin at odd hours.

Finally finished the bewitched and bewildered series. Loved these books, the characters are great and they make me laugh out loud (don't read them on the bus cos everyone will just stare at you). I felt the new one was a bit of a departure. Clearly the start of a new ARC but I felt this was more scene setting for the next ARC rather than a stand alone book. If I had started with this one I am not sure I would love the books as much as I do.

Had a binge read of Nalini's newsletters and associated short stories ( as she mentioned in a post last week all mine had been disappearing into my trash/ spam. At least I found them. I am dying to read more about Atlantis and Stefan. Desperately waiting for the new Rock Wedding.

Also read Linda Howard's Troublemaker, it was OK. Didn't really do it for me felt a bit too much like Nora Robert's The Witness but without the strong characters or suspense.

I just read "Dragon Ridden" by T. A. White. It's a fantasy book about a girl that wakes up with no memory and a Dragon tattoo. I loved it so much I bought her other book "Pathfinder" which I think I liked even better. Pathfinder is a fantasy romance with barbarians. It has a similar vibe to Elizabeth Vaughn's "Warprize". Then I cyberstalked T.A. White to see when her next book was coming out. Both of these books are the first books in a series so if you want to wait the sequels are coming out next year sometime.

I have literally just started reading Justice Calling, the first book in the Twenty-sided Sorceress series by Annie Bellet. I'm on the first page, but geeky magic user seems like a good concept to me.

I just read The Dead, the third book in Donna Augustine's series beginnings with The Wild. My favorite installment yet, with romance, interesting plot and character development, and non-stop adventure with a strong, determined, hilarious heroine. I loved it and can't wait for the next book in September.
