Friday Book Club

I read Julie James' Something About You this week and loved it! It's smart and sexy, and with an awesome cast of characters. Julie James is rapidly becoming one of my go-to authors for fabulous contemporary romance.

Right now, I'm reading JD Robb's Fantasy In Death and trying to figure out the howdunnit!

Okay, your turn. What're you reading and loving this week?

I just finished Christine Warren's Born to be Wild and loved it. It's the latest in her novels of the Others and well worth the wait. The only complaint I had, was that it had to end. Next on my list to read is Christina Dodds' In Bed with the Duke. I love her historical novels and can't wait to dive into it!

Have a great weekend!

Yesterday I got through Fantasy in Death. It's great. The howdunnit is... interesting, and I felt smug because I guessed the culprit early in the book, and normally JD Robb keeps me guessing.

Also read the new anthology that has Joey W Hill in it and Denisse Rossetti.

Looking to pick up Shaldor's Lady this weekend by Anne Bishop. SO excited.

I have just finished Shift by Rachel Vincent! Amazing books, so much action you just can't put it down.

Also I have read Big Bad Wolf by Christine Warren. Born to be Wild arrived today. So I hope to start it on the weekend.

I think with Fantasy in Death its not about who did it, but how it was done. It was really interesting. Right now I'm reading Special Delivery by Heidi Cullinan and I'm loving it.

Let's see, I've been on a reading binge this week: I ran through just about all of Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and then topped it off with a rereading of Archangel's Kiss then The Confessions of Mr. Darcy (Mary Street). All of which I highly recommend!

Next week: just ordered a compilation of the first three books of the Black Jewels series... I have high hopes for that series, all y'all have given it such good reviews!

I just finished The Battle Sylph by L.J. McDonald - awesome - reminded me of Elizabeth Vaughan's Borderlands trilogy. Next installment is out March 30 and I can hardly wait!

I'm still reading Lynn Flewelling's Luck in the Shadows. It's good, but a slow read.

I just finished Blood Magic by Eileen Wilks (6th book in her world of the lupi serie). Lots of interesting tidbits in this book. I was happy to see more of Grandmother Yu and Sam!

Nalini-I just finished both of those books & loved them. It is so hard to get into other books when you loved the last books you have read.I really liked the closer view into friendships in FAntasy in DEath rather than concentrating on the whodunnit.
I have some new mysteries, Southern Lit and paranormal in my TBR pile. Whatever shall I read?
I have been contemplating reading the Black Jewels series. I love Fantasy & haven't read it.

I just got my hands into "Hold on Tight" by Stephanie Tyler.
The book is sexy and a page turn over. I have to go this weekend and get the other two books in this series. Highly recomended.

Rereading Kresley Cole's IAD series. There are just so many layers and they are too good to be believed! Love it!

I'm finishing up "The next best thing" by Kristan Higgins as well as "Taking Chances" by Shiloh Walker.

Up next on my TBR pile... Boy, I have no idea. I just bought 14 new (print) books and ordered a Kindle (it'll be here any day - SQUEE!) so I have a ton of choices. I'm thinking it'll be "Blue Diablo" by Ann Aguire because it came in today and I made the mailman laugh when I danced a real-life jig in the stairwell of my condo.

I'm obsessed with JD Robb books, but I haven't read the last 2 for some reason. I think I need to go back and re-read from the beginning because I love her so much. Sadly, it'll have to wait until after I'm finished reading al my new pretties... err, BOOKS. :)

I've been having a hankering for scifi romance, so when I went to my UBS I asked for a recommendation. I was pointed toward Susan Grant
s books. I finished The Warlord's Daughter yesterday and while it could have been a lot better developed on the romance front, I loved the scifi aspects and the characters were easy to connect with. Also, it was obviously part of a long line of related books, so I may have to glom.

I decided to go through books I borrowed from the library first over the ones I've bought in my TBR pile. This week I've read Yasmine Galenorn's Bone Magic and JR Ward's Insider Guide. I really enjoyed seeing inside Ward's process of writing because even though I haven't liked all of the BDB books equally, the series as a whole I enjoy. Bone Magic was a bit of a let down. I like the world Galenorn has created, but I am more intriqued with the war she has created than the sisters.

PeppyPilotGirl-- so glad you liked the IAD! I love Cole's series. I can't wait to see who is the next character to crossover into Gena Showalter's Lords series. All she has told us so far is that it is not Nix again....
