Friday Book Club

I thought I'd put up the Friday Book Club while I'm having lunch. What are you reading and loving this week?

p.s. I won't be online much over the weekend, as it's all systems go on Shards of Hope. :-)

In my continuing quest of Christmas novellas I enjoyed No Mistletoe Required by Jeanette Murray, Christmas at Carriage Hill by Carla Neggers, and Merry Christmas, Baby (the last Lucky Harbor) by Jill Shalvis.

I also liked His Trouble in Tallulah by Cathryn Fox (In the Line of Duty #2).

I am reading James Clavell's Shogun. This is my favorite of all his books set in Asia. This book is not for the faint of heart since it is over 1100 pages. It is set in Japan in the 1500's. There is a lot of political backstabbing, attempted murder, outright murder, divided loyalties, and forbidden love.

I'm rereading Eve Silver's Otherkin series. Forgot how much I enjoyed the series and the Egyptian mythology she uses.

I missed a couple of weeks .. so not sure you mentioned it in your blog or newsletters .. but your book "Shield of Winter" is in the 19th position for best romance books of 2014. Was nice to see it there :)

I just found Jeffe Kennedy's Twelve Kingdoms trilogy and am really enjoying it. The first two books are already out, The Mark of the Tala and The Tears of the Rose. This is a fantasy series that centers on three princess sisters that mature and find their places in the world and by doing so bring their lands out of turmoil.

I must say - I spent the last 6 weeks devouring every. single. one of your books, Ms. Singh, and now I'm feeling bereft and sad. As an Asian American, I love that your characters have such a rich cultural/ ethnic background, in addition to their identities of being an angel, a Hunter, a Changeling, a Psy, and etc.

Please write faster.

I've been reading and re-reading Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews for a couple weeks now. It's killing me that I'll have to wait for the next in the series. Normally I'm fine with waiting but this one is really great.

Sherrilyn Kenyon's dark hunter book Styxx. I would give it a 4/5. Very romantic but very heat wrenching and definitely not for the feint of heart. It has some very graphic descriptions of torture scenes done to the hero.
