Friday Book Club

Time to talk books! What are you reading and loving this week?

Also, I have a quick interview today in USA Today's Sci-Fi Encounters where I talk a little about Shield of Winter, and about Bluebell. :)

I read Meredith Duran's newest book, Fool Me Twice, and absolutely loved it! She's becoming one of my favorite historical romance authors.

I followed Nalini's recommendation and purchased Meljean Brook's steampunk romance The Iron Duke. I'm about half way through. It's not paranormal but she creates a highly addictive world and I love the characters. So much so I got the other books in this series Heart of Steel and Riveted.

I see that she wrote another series starting with Demon Blood. These sound more like paranormal romance. Has anyone read these? I see there are seven in this series which would be quite costly as I've just bought these others. So if anyone could tell me what they are like I would really appreciate it :)

Thanks for the recommendation Nalini!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm going to start Shadow's Claim by Kresley Cole today. Can't wait!

@Connie:
I've only read Demon Angel (which I think/thought is actually the first book in the series, but I'm not sure so better check that out) and two novellas set in Meljean's Guardian-world (since they were included in anthologies that also feature our dear Nalini :-)), but I liked them all and have no compunction to recommend them.
If you're not sure if you want to read them you could try out only the first book and see how you like it. You shouldn't necessarily read the novellas first, though. Blind Spot (included in the Must Love Hellhounds anthology) is a great read and doesn't give away too many spoilers since it's taking place very early in the series, but especially Ascension in the Angels of Darkness anthology gives away HUGE spoilers for the overall story arc of the Guardian-series. So better stay clear at least of that one for now. I hope I could help you! :)

Thank you Jana for your input. Demon Angel appears to be the first book in the series like you said. I'll take your advice and try this first:) 'Ascension' is pretty far along in the series so thanks for the tip re spoilers too!
