I have been reading and loving Magic Bites and Magic Burns by the inestimable Ilona Andrews. They've been in my TBR for months, but what tipped the scale was when the book money went to holiday shopping and I couldn't buy new books.
Why oh why did I take so long to read about Kate Daniels and her magical adventures? The worldbuilding alone makes me lightneaded with happiness. Now I must seek out Magic Strikes and then I can be antsy for May when Magic Bleeds comes out.
Oy vey, another series to follow. I'm screwed, but at least I'll be in a wonderful romance coma when I go. :)
I am knee deep in murders and strange going ons in Kylie Brant's Waking Nightmare. Lots of police procedure but it is gripping and a great romance developing.
Got the next 2 in the series to look forward to - Waking Evil & Waking the Dead. Fab.
I've just started Meljean Brook's Guardians series. It's just as good as everyone has said. I don't have enough hours in my day to read as much as I would like. I have a small problem with needing to work, take care of my family, and sleep! :)
Yes who needs to sleep, when there is so many great books to be reading? I am reading Street Game by the fabulous Christine Feehan. My TBR pile is huge after receiving so many great books for Xmas, and those I got while on holidays.. Some include
Kitty and the Midnight Hour - Carrie Vaughn Witch Blood - Anya Bast Kissing Frogs - Laura Marie Altom Touch the Dark - Karen Chance Heart of Darkness Anthology Bone Magic - Yasmine Galenorn
Just finished reading Marked from the house of night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. Now I have moved on to Marked then I will start up my drizzt books again until feb when nalini's next book comes out right?
Nalini, unfortunately, I am skipping sleep! It's a very bad habit, but one my family is well used to. Meljean's books were a Christmas gift. I also got all of Meredith Duran's books and the 1st of Jeanine Frost's Night Huntress books. I finished Halfway to the Grave while on Christmas break and I'm totally hooked on Cat and Bones. So many books and so little time! Then there are way too many books coming out the 1st week of February, which is my birthday week. Argh. The TBR pile is growing into my retirement years! LOL
Just finished the 2 Chicagoland Vampire books by Chloe Neill and can't wait till the 3rd book comes out. Its quite different from all the usual vampire/paranormal books.
I am new to your work and paranormal fiction in general, so will probably be taking more advice than giving. However, I just wanted to say that I appreciate this "Friday Book Club" - what a wonderful way to find new things to read.
Snap Courtney! I finished Magic Burns last week and have been hanging out for Magic Strikes (the downside to borrowing books form the library is waiting for an available copy :)
I also read Second Chance Pass (the fifth book in Robyn Carr's Virgin River series). It was full of babies IMO :) Now I'm reading manga and looking forward to readimg Sarah Monette's Corambis!
First of all, thanks to all of you who recommended the Black Jewel Trilogy by Ann Bishop. I had seen the recommendations a few time but for some reason I always hesitated. WELL, I'm SO glad that I picked them up! It was a little darker then I was used to, but wow, I read the entire trilogy on a transatlantic flight. :)
I read Vision in White by Nora Roberts...blah...I am a HUGE NR fan and this was totally underwhelming. I am not planning on reading anything else in this series.
I'm picking up Kylie Brant books, and we'll report back soon. :)

This week I read Lauren Dane's Coming Undone. Loved it - couldn't put it down and didn't finish it until 2:30 in the morning.
Hoping to start CL Wilson's Queen of Song and Souls this weekend
Shades of Midnight by Lara Adrian. It's very good. I highly recomended.
I'm re-reading Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught and then I'm moving on to Sherrilyn Kenyon's Kiss of the Night from the Dark-Hunter Series
I just finished the Charles Finch msytery novels (with a romantic undertone going one) that were just fabulous.
