Interview & Answers

I was interviewed by Danny for Love Romances & More. Click the link to read!

Also, this question came up in the comments of the previous post (and all your positive comments on that post seriously made my day, so thank you!!) and I thought it would be of general interest so I'm answering it here:

"...are all the books in the guild hunter series about Elena and Raphael???"

The first two books are going to follow Raphael and Elena, as I felt we still had so much more to learn about their relationship. However, after that, the focus may shift to one of the secondary characters. It's going to depend on the events from book to book - these books are very closely linked.

Any other questions? Let's keep them spoiler free for now. We can do a spoiler question thread or a chat in a couple of weeks when more people have had a chance to read the book :)

Also, if you left a question for me in any of the contest threads, I may have missed it with so many incoming comments, so please repost!

Hi, Nalini!!

I loved your new book, and my question is.... When exactly (what month) is Angels Kiss likely to be released?

And a second one... Is Illium the future archangel???

Take care,

Bel

Hi, I wanted to know if Angels' Blood, like your psy/changeling series, takes place in the future or is it more of a present day representation?

I really enjoyed Angels' Blood! I wanted MORE romance with Elena and I think I'll get it after reading this!!! Can I nominate Jason for his own book????

Bel - I don't have an exact date, but, given the date I have to turn it in, it's likely to be around Mar-Apr next year. Don't take that as gospel though as release dates can change very fast!

As for your second question - you'll learn more about Illium in the books to come, but no, he isn't yet old enough to be an archangel.

Anon - it's more of a present-day world.

CindyW - yes, you will get more of their relationship in the second book. As for Jason, he's a quiet one. We'll have to wait and see ;)

Nalini, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Angel's Blood! The entire book was amazing. Raphael and Elena are a great combination and I can't wait to see where life takes them, especially with all the possibilities and potential that we glimpsed at the end of the book.

The secondary characters were likewise wonderful. I adored the love-hate feeling I got from Dmitri. He's incredibly intriguing. And I have the biggest crush on Illiam! And on Ransom, too, because I'm fickle like that. LOL

My question: because I am unrepentantly greedy and would read a grocery list if you wrote it, are you planning on posting a longer excerpt from Angel's Kiss sometime? Maybe another short snippet?

Hi Nalini, just wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed Angels' Pawn and Angels' Blood. can't wait for the next installment!

My question is one that I asked on the Confessions of a Romance Addict blog, but I may have been too late for a reply. My question relates to Angels' Pawn ... Will we see more of Ashwini and Janvier? Will they get their own full length story?

Bridget - you'll have to wait and see ;)

Courtney - LOL! On my grocery list this week.. *g* I'm in the process of writing Angel's Kiss and I don't usually post long excerpts until the book is pretty much done, so you'll have to wait a while yet, but there will eventually be one.

Shellbell - yep! I have plans for those two :)

Nalini, I've only read Angels' Pawn so far and cant wait to read more about Ashwini & Janvier.

My question is will we find out how Angels came to be in this world or are we to assume that they've always been here?

Nalini - the books are fantastic and I am as hopelessly and completely hooked by your Guild Hunters series as I am by your Psy/Changling series. Addictions can be good - right?! =)

One question, we will get more of the vampires? I was completely intrigued by Dmitri and the rest of Raphael's guards.

Hi Nalini,

I've just finished your Angel's book and I loved it!

These definately aren't your grannies Angels:) I wonder do you worry there might be religious controvesy because you used angels for the story. Angels that are so 'flawed'. Archangel Rafael as a sexual being might be a bit much to take for some?

Hi, Nalini

Congrats on the new release. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to the rest of the series. I loved the imagery of the colors and patterns of all the angels' wings. (Can't wait until you write about the winged changelings).
I'm also very interested in Raphael's "seven". I hope we get to see more of them.

I had a quick question. Will we see more of the young angel who delivered the gift to Elena? ( He was too cute :P) And will we see baby Angels ?

I am a wife and mother of a 2 year old... working part time ,going to night school once a week with loads of homework. The last last thing I needed to do was get hooked on another series of books...

I am hooked. I had seen your name floating around on some internet boards and was reluctant to try. I have been reading romance for ages and have grown with the industry. I read the Black Dagger Brothehood series was hooked then disappointed. Tried another "changeling series" and was disappointed. Then I thought.. what the heck let me try Nalini Singh.. and oh oh oh....

Did I say I am hooked... totally and that is the last thing I need. I bought 3 of your books as a trial and have just ordered the other 3 that I did not have.

you get 5 stars all around, for plot, dialouge, characterization, flow and the last one.. which I forget.

I have but one question... do your older family members... like mum, dad, aunts and uncles read your books and if they do.. what do they think of the love scenes and more importantly what do they think of you after reading them?

Thank you for such lovely lovely books. I am so glad I discovered you late in the game cause I get to read 6 books without having to wait for releases.

Oh and lastly I wanted to say that I love how "international" you cast of characters is. Very refreshing. The names to.. just love that

HI Nalini!

Am still patiently waiting for Angels' Blood...not sure how often I can haunt my local library before it's considering stalking and the librarians call the police :)

I pimped Angels' Blood (well, the excerpt) to a friend who hasn't really read paranomral romance/urban fantasy before. She bought the eBook...and (figuratively) devoured it:) So, I've lent her Slave to Sensation...

OMG!!! The book its amazing!!!
I could write for hours and not do it justice! I can't wait for the next one!!! Ms. Singh, hands down, you are one of the most AMAZING writers and storytellers EVER!!!

Nalini Singh said...

KJsGrrl - We may find out more - depends on how the stories progress, but for now, assume that they've always been there.

Una - yes! The Seven all have stories to tell :)

Tannun - I think that because it is so clearly fiction (with no religious references) there shouldn't be any reason for controversy. (Fingers crossed!)

Sweet - the sweet young angel has a fan! We may see more of him since he does work for Raphael. And you'll be seeing angelic young in book 2 :)

Mrembo - thanks! I'm really delighted you're enjoying my books :) My Mum reads all my books, so do my aunts. They're cool with it (because they're generally cool all around *grin*).

Orannia - thanks for the intro!

Daniela - thank you!!! :)

I know that this may seem like a weird question, but ever since I've finished Angels' Blood (amazing), I've been trying to picture the Angels' clothes. Are their slots for their wings to go through, or is there a gaping hole at the top of all of their shirts?

Its just driving me crazy not being able to picture it.

Courtney said...

I second Renee's question. When it was brought up on another board, my response was that a good solution was for Raphael to just remain nekkid. *waggles eyebrows*

LOL! I think I need to come up some diagrams but here's the explanation for now: there are different styles for men and
women but here's the basic one - I see them as normal shirts but with two slits in the back, so they just flow around the wings - very easy to get on an off.

For flight, they can betucked in, or secured below the wings with buttons etc(Straps come in more useful for women's styles).
