Magic Strikes - Ilona Andrews

This book is so good on so many levels that I don't know where to start. It's got humor, action and yeah, let's not forget the sexual tension. I'm convinced Ilona is trying to kill us all with the way Kate and Curran are dancing around each other.

I love Kate - I love that she's strong but not all-powerful, that she has friends she cares deeply about, that she doesn't always do what's best for her - it all makes her wonderfully, likeably human.

As for Curran - okay, he's seriously hot, but he's also got all that uber-alpha stuff going on that would drive any woman to insanity, but I love him, too. Especially after this book. (See, now you want to read it don't you? *g*).

All the secondary characters are fantastic - I feel as if we get a glimpse into each and every one. From a writer's perspective, it's brilliantly done. From a reader's, it's just magic.

Magic Strikes releases March 31st (that's today!). You can read an excerpt on Ilona's site.
If you haven't started the series, Magic Bites is the first book.

Who else loves this series?

Love it.

Ilona is such a tease. I mean that in a good way, of course. Well, maybe...

I put off reading the series for a long time, because I'm more of a romance fan than an urban fantasy fan. For me to like an UF series, there has to be a strong element of romance in it. This series definitely has that.

I finally purchased Magic Bites a couple of weeks ago when Amazon had it on sale. I gobbled it up and downloaded Magic Burns to my Kindle. As soon as I finished that, I ordered Magic Strikes with express shipping and read it as soon as I got it. So, I read all 3 books in a span of a week. For me the series got better with each successive book.

I don't know how I'm going to wait for the next one.

I love this series. I downloaded my copy of Magic Strikes last night and will be starting it once I have finished Colleen Gleason's As Shadows Fade.

Loved this book! The series just keeps getting better, and the characters keep gaining more depth. I am really bummed that I have to wait (probably) for another year for the 4th book.

Can you believe she's starting a new series! I think these authors do this on purpose, get us salivating for a series then start a new one to write at the same time!

its one of my favourite and if you know how many series I read its saying something :)

I preordered mine at fictionwise and then waited impatiently for it to become available, the fact that im in australia and it was the 31st for hours nearly killed me.

Im glad you love this series to Nalini :)

I am a huge huge huge fan of this set. I am in tears because we have to wait so long for the next. The action in it is some of the best written in my opinion.
