ANGELS' BLOOD is about to release in mere hours! Here's what Mary M, one of the winners of the ARC contest had to say about it:
In ANGEL’S BLOOD, Singh masterfully creates yet another compelling world... It is a universe of sensuality and danger, both beautiful and merciless, familiar and utterly foreign....
...what a great world it is, one where you can read an angel's wings like the expressions on a face, watch the ballet of their takeoff and landing like you’d do with planes at the airport, get your hands shimmery with angel dust...
If you’re a lover of paranormal in the least, buy it, you won’t regret it.
The final giveaway in the countdown is a much coveted ARC of Karen Chance's Curse the Dawn, the fourth book in her Cassandra Palmer series.
Here's the blurb:
Cassandra Palmer may be the all-powerful Pythia now, but that doesn’t mean people have stopped trying to kill her. Most of the supernatural power players don’t want the independent minded Cassie as chief clairvoyant—and they’ll stop at nothing to see her six feet under.Curse the Dawn releases April 7th! You can check out an excerpt and a book trailer on Karen Chance's website.
The Vampire Senate does support Cassie in her position, but their protection comes with a price: an alliance with the sexy master vampire Mircea, who has claimed Cassie as his own.
But even the vampires will have trouble keeping Cassie alive now that the self-styled god Apollo, the source of the Pythia’s power, has it in for her in a big way. To save her life—and the world—Cassie’s going to have to face down her creator once and for all.
In keeping with giveaway, today's entry question is: Would you like to see the future?

Hey, that's me!!! :-DDD You know, I think I'm probably as excited to see excerpts of my review up there than you must be each time you receive a great review :-DD
To answer the question: no, I'd rather not see of the future. Or I would, but only if I could be sure I'd only learn good things, and since the odds of that are slim, better not to know. I'm the stressed type and I'd go crazy thinking about what I know is going to happen :).
Hi Nalini,
I guess I am a bit torn about seeing the future. On one hand, if it's good news like marriage or happiness, I would love to know. However, if I could forsee a loved one's death or pain, I would constantly try and change it which may make it worse. I don't know if I could handle that.
Only the winning lottery number
Nope, No future seeing for me. Unless I'm in Vegas ;)
I think I'd rather not see the future. Knowing about all those bad things before they happen would just make them so much worse, and knowing the good things before they happen would kill some of the surprise and joy I think.
I wouldn't want to see the future. I'd rather a good thing be a surprise. If it was something bad I would just worry and not be able to enjoy life.
Even though I could see many, many benefits to being able to see the future (lottery numbers/vegas being great examples ;)), I think the negative consequences are even more. I would much rather live my life, enjoy and endure the suprises, than know exactly what would happen. Plus, I belive that the future is influenced by present actions, and can change.
In a way yes, and then again what if it sucked? Then again I might change the future to a better tone. Dunno if I could handle it
I don't think I would like to see the future I would rather just lets things happen as they do if I saw the future I may want to change things
Have Fun
Helen
Yeah, only the winning lotto number sounds good to me, lol.
Sometimes I think I do, intriguing, but then no, I might find out something awful and just stress myself all the more and tempted to try and change things, impossible as that may be.
Noooooo thank you!
I definitely don't want to see the future.
Nope. I don't want to see the future. I would rather not know what is coming. :)
Oooh, I would never want to be able to see the future. Well... I'd like to know if the book I'm working on will be published, but that's it. Otherwise, I would never want that ability. D: It's a scary power, I think.
No I wouldn't want to see the future too scary. I think if you could see it you would be always trying to change something instead of just living.
lol I wouldn't mind seeing the future as long as it wasn't my own. :)
Well, I guess it would depend on future seeing ability. Most of the time when you read about someone seeing the future, it is usually not absolute. The seer can see several possible outcomes, depending on the person's choices. If it was with this ability, my answer would be yes.
No. I did not even want to see the fortune teller. It spoils all the fun of life.
Probably not. If the future you saw was absolute/set in stone, you wouldn't be able to change it. If it wasn't absolute, it would become overwhelming keeping the streams of possibility straight.
I don't think I'd like seeing the future. I wouldn't want to know when people I loved were going to get hurt or die. :( The dread would overwhelm me.
That'd be very tempting but then again, I might be very tempted to chance things in the present that would actually have an impact on the future.... So no. :(
I wouldn't mind it so much if I could be like Ash in Sherrilyn Kenyon's book and only see the future as it pertains to me or someone I love. I wouldn't want that cause I'd hate to influence the future in a bad way.
I kind of would like to see the future on certain days...like if my car's goign to break down next week so I won't buy this blank. :) Beyond that though, I'm pretty happy to just know about the present.
Depends on if I get to see the winning lotto numbers for this week. :) There are times I want to see the future and others I don't want to. For instance, I so don't want to see my son's future. I love watching him exploring new things and I don't think I would want to know beforehand what his expressions and reactions are.
At the same time, i wouldn't mind knowing if I was going to win this ARC or not. :P
Actually... I rather not, thank you. I'm sure there are plenty of things coming I rather not know just yet!
The future say 100 years from now yes. My future no! I would rather live no matter how difficult it may be at times.
I would love to see what the world becomes - hopefully it would be cool.
I really think that I would not want to see the future...some things are better left unknown. Wow, what great contests you have had and I will be hitting my bookstore today to pick up a copy of Angel's Blood.
NO WAY! I like taking every day as it comes.
I would like to see the future, I like to be prepared!
See the future? I would, but I'd like some control over it as well. To be able to get some relief. But I just can't help it. I love to know what's going to happen, (and what has happened - hence my love of history). Then again there are things that are just better experienced as they come. See, now I'm talking myself out of it LOL
No, because probably all the bad things that I would see I wouln't be able to stop and that, among other things, would make me feel guilty.
Seeing the future is only a small part of the equation. What do you do with the knowledge? That is what always gets me about this question. So I see that X is fated to happen, what do I do? Pop popcorn and watch? Go shopping for a mask, lycra tights, a cape and hooker boots? Well, I love hooker boots anyway - who doesn't? - but the idea of having some sort of action required after the knowing is the rub of the whole future knowledge issue for me. That and the thought that if you can see the future, does it mean that those events become solid and inevitable? I like the cause & effect model of events and I'd hate to find out that peeking ahead causes that to shift somehow...
On the surface, yes, deep down no. Seeing the future is wonderful if it is about good things. Unfortunately, life isn't only about good things and so I wouldn't want to see it. It's better to let things happen naturally and without knowing beforehand.
I'd love to see the future. I'm one of those incredibly curious people who just can't wait for anything...Example: I always read the last page first in a book. Yes, LOL, everyone tells me how I shouldn't do it...but I can't help it! *blushes*
I think it'd be too complicated to figure out what you're seeing. The future is always changing based on what we do or don't do today, tomorrow, next week, etc.
No...no I wouldn't. Because to see the future - can I change things? If I can, then the future I see would change and what if the differences I make - turn out the make the future worse? Then I'm tortured on how I made things worse - especially if I cannot put things back. And to see the future and know I can't change it would be torture. I would not want to see the future.
If I could have a chance of changing things, yes, I'd like to see the future. I think knowing something bad was going to happen without being able to do anything about it would defeat me after a while.
Wow that's a tough one. I think I would have to pass on visions.
I keep thinking about Faith from VoH... and how much having those visions cost her emotionally. To be able to stop something bad from happening would be wonderful, but what about the things you see you can't change? I would hate to be like J.R. Ward's Vishous and know how all my friends would die, but not when so I couldn't stop it.
That's a hard question. It really depends on what aspects I could see. If it was just how people were going to die than no, but if it was something I could use to save them or save them hardship then yes. Although then you would have to deal with some people not believing you which would be difficult when you know you can help them but they refuse to listen.
I think the problem with knowing the future is that you don't live in the now - and you could end up so eager to change the possible futures out there that you could end up with a self-fulfilling propecy. If you hadn't known, you wouldn't do what you did that made it turn out that way.
So no, I don't think I'd want to know the future.
I'm sure it would have it's perks but I don't think it's something that I would enjoy everyday. I think I'd do w/o if at all possible!
Absolutely not. Unless it was "am I going to get a decent cup of coffee today" I'd be too scared to see the future.
No. I think that could be VERY sad. Although if I could use it to help people.......
When I first saw the question, my immediate response was "Yes!" But then I thought about it. Do I want the responsibility of knowing the future?
No, I don't. Yeah, it would be good in certain circumstances, but the bad comes along with the good, and I don't think I could tell someone that they're going to die, or something equally dismal.
Hmm..I wouldn't really, but at the same time I must say that I do want to, because there are so many people I could help if I did. Of course, it would be hard if you saw inevitable deaths and destruction, but overall, even one person saved will make a difference.
It would be a scary yet fascinating gift...if it happened I would not run away but it not something I would go looking for.
Hi Nalini! I am really torn on how to answer this question. I would have to say no, that is unless of course I can just see the good parts. I really don't want to see bad things happening to my friends, family or myself for that matter.
I am not sure. If I knew bad things were going to happen I would not want to know.
No, I don't think so, it'd drive me crazy trying to change it.
I honestly don't know. I think you would have to be a really strong person to be able to see the future and cope with what you saw, especially if you couldn't change it...
Ohhh. I've just read the first Karen Chance book and have the second on my TBR list so I'm quite a way behind. So, can you please not include me me in this contest Nalini :) It makes more sense for the ARC to go to someone who a bit further ahead than me :)
No, because then I would be afraid that I will do something different than I did "before" and my future would change in ways I wouldn't want it to.
I'm too curious to answer with a straightforward "no", but I suspect the talent would drive me bonkers in the end.
Ok, I see I'm in the minority but I'd like to see the future. After all, its not set in concrete, right?
Oh I love Karen Chance!
And the answer is no, definitely would not like to see the future. Tempting, but no.
Happy release day, btw!
No. I stress enough about things as it is. Seeing the future would give me a bunch of other stuff to worry about.
Nope,I don't have the strength to see the future and not wigg out about what I see.
No, I'm a worrier and I'm better off just not knowing. Also, I wouldn't like the responsibility of knowing what would happen to loved ones or even some stranger I happened to run into. Knowing the future just seems kind of scary to me.
ohh that is a hard one- I would like to see some things especially if they are bad and if I can change the outcome for the better. But I would also like to see some good things and yep winning the lottery will help! :D More books to buy!!!!
Definitely not. I like to think the future is determined by our choices and not just laid out for us, waiting to happen.
I'm not sure if I'd want to see the future or not. There are definitely some ramifications I'm not sure I'd want to face with that kind of ability. So, I guess I'd have to say no.
If I could control it, and IF I could potentially change what I saw, I think if it was offered to me, I would take it in the hopes of being able to help, but I wouldn't wish for it.
I'd rather not know about the future if it's something bad is going to happen.
I would not like to see the future.
Not really. I have so much to deal with in the present that I think seeing the future would just cause too much chaos in my life. I also believe in living the present to the fullest and seeing where life takes you.
No I wouldn't like seeing the whole future. Maybe glimpses of it would be interesting.
I'd love to read this series! :)
e interested in seeing the future and what I'm going to end up doing with my life and to try to see if I can fix any mistakes=)
I don't think I'd like to be able to see the future. Whether its bad or good, i think its sometimes better just not knowing.
Not really. I'd always live my life trying to prevent the bad things in the future and wind up creating a new future that also included bad things. There's no way around it. And then I wouldn't live for today. Sort of like that person that's so intent on reaching the destination that they miss the journey.
If I could see the lottery numbers only that would be a different story!
No, I don't think I would. Since I can't have it my way of seeing some things but not others, I'll have to pass. There are just somethings I'd rather not know early.
No, I wouldn't. And I say that because I've already screwed up enough things in my life. I dunno...I'm afraid if I could see the future I'd just screw things up for other people too. *sigh*
It depends. I firmly believe living in the 'now'. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted, but it can cause too many problems. Knowing if a love one died, or knowing if you were to die. It would cause too many problems, and it would be so depressing. It would wear me down.
What you do now affects the future. I would concentrate on that, and whatever may follow deal with it at the time.
No I wouldn't want to see the future. I rather leave things to chance.
To be able to see the future is a huge responsibility and takes such strength that I don't think I'd be able to do handle that weight, so no, I don't think I'd want to see what lays in store for us (unless it let me read your books in advance-Muwahaha!)
No, I rather not see the future because if I know I might try to change it and it might lead to horrible repurcussions.
Sue
No. Seeing the future always ends in bad things!
sometimes I think yes then other's I think no. I think I like the suspense of not knowing what is going to happen tomorrow and when someone is going to die, etc. If you also had the power to stop a bad event then yes, it would be cool.
Heather
I think it would be fun to see the future. That way if I didn't like something I still had the chance to change it before it happened.
Being able to see the future is one of those kind of scary powers because often you cannot control whether you see good or bad. Also, I'm not sure I would like it if I saw the bad and knew I couldn't change anything.
Therefore my answer is maybe. It could be cool, but it could also be very haunting.
I don't think I would want to know the future, because then I may do something that I wouldn't normally do because of something I see and end up screwing up my future...sort of like Macbeth. Plus I think I'd end up in a mental ward somewhere...either that or a government lab. :)
