Talia Hibbert - a new author to me. Her first book - Get a Life, Clothe Brown. Easy and fun to read and she covers difficult topics with humor and insight. Also a reread of Patricia Briggs - The Hob's Choice. Finished the audio of Alpha Night. Am counting down the months until the next release.
I just finished Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs. It's interesting that the books can stand alone, but at the same time weave characters from the other books.
Now I'll have to find something else to read while waiting for new books to come out. 🙂
Finished "Better With Books" by Melissa Hart last night. It has a list of about 500 books for tweens and teens that talk about diversity in various forms, in an attempt to 'encourage empathy and self acceptance'. All the books have been published in the last 10 years. (though several are set several decades ago, or so) I don't know much about the books, although I own a few of them (haven't gotten to them yet), but the explanation of why books on these particular topics are important (and on diversity in general) is awesome! Talks about the power of books and literature in general, and the power of finding yourself represented in books (or not!) etc. As soon as the weather cooperates and cools down to something tolerable, I'm probably going to go buy my own copy at the local bookstore that has it in stock.
Also reading (finally) "Sword Dancer" by Jennifer Roberson. I know, I know, I'm VERY late to the stories of Tiger and Del, but I've had the books for a very long time (well, most of them) if that counts! … The misogyny in it is extremely strong, and sometimes hard to take, because Tiger is such an *&#@, but, Del is such a strong woman that you know she's going to set him straight, despite his hard-headedness. If I didn't know that there's a whole series spun off these two characters, and that they wind up travelling together so much, (and therefore she must've knocked some sense into him at some point) I don't know if I'd have stuck with it, but I am curious to see how that relationship develops. And I have just gotten to the point last night where he finally figures it out! That is, that she really is a sword dancer, and she really is skilled with a sword! (though how much of that is from being told by another man, I'm not sure.)
Great news for everyone: I was able to pre-order Archangel's Sun from Barnes and Noble this morning. Yay! Not sure if Amazon or other retailers have the pre-order up yet.
I can't wait until around Thanksgiving (November 24, 2020) to read it. Titus has met his match. I wonder what Ilium is going to think about this???????? :)
I've started my reread of the Guild Codex: Spellbound series by Annette Marie in preparation for the seventh book's release on July 10. I'm so sad this series is almost over (and the same with her Demonized series) but she has another series coming from this same world and I can't wait to read it, too.
Just finished Dawn Caravan by Elizabeth Hunter and The Unseen by Thea Harrison. They were both very good; Dawn Caravan moved Benzin forward very nicely while setting the stage for the next book. The Unseen is the first installment in a 4 novella series, ends on a cliffhanger and I hope Thea manages to write the next one soon, because, well, we’re hanging! AndreaH
my library's digital version of Alpha Night became available to me late last night!! Everybody's been reading it FAST, apparently for me to get it this early! Had the discipline to wait until this morning to borrow it. Been sucked in since the beginning. At first, because it's a new Psy-Changeling book, but very quickly because it's written that well!!
Only about 80 pages in and already have come across at least 1/2 dozen really awesome quotes!!! I don't know how you do it Nalini, but you get these characters so right! You know what you're talking about with some very difficult emotional concepts! Not many authors can get that so right!! It's awesome to see someone do it!

I really enjoyed Sonya Clark's Trancehack (Magic Born #1). Planning to start the second book tomorrow.
Still working on the Sholan Alliance by Lisanne Norman. Book 4 Razor's Edge and book 5 Dark Nadir.
Read Elizabeth Hunter's Dawn Caravan (it was awesome) and have started S. Chakraborty's City of Brass
