Friday Book Club & Guest-Blogging
I'm guest-blogging over at Literary Escapism about Sympathetic Characters. Come on over and say hi.
Now, onto today's book club. I read India Grey's Powerful Italian, Penniless Housekeeper last night and loved it! Two wonderful, nuanced and likable characters, lots of emotional heart and a great setting.
You can check out an excerpt here.
I remember reading a really good review of this book somewhere, but in spite of my searching I can't find it now. However, thank you for whoever pointed me in Ms. Grey's direction!
Okay, what've you been reading and loving this week?

Review, Interview & Covers
To open, a link to a great review of Archangel's Kiss that came in this morning.
Plus, Chris Marie Green is giving away a couple of copies from her Vampire Babylon series over at The Knight Agency.
And, I saw this cover for Lauren Dane's Inside Out this morning and had to post it. Isn't it gorgeous?!
Have you seen any covers you've loved recently?
All-in-all Archangel’s Kiss has everything that urban fantasy romance fans could ask for – sexy thrills, compelling characters and an original mythology combined with more than a dash of horror. Paranormal romance doesn’t get better than this. Also, I have an interview up at Book Bound today.

Writing, Reading & Watching
I'm now working on the third Guild Hunter book and really looking forward to getting into it. I think Bluebell is about to make an appearance.
Also, I'm over at Oddshots today, talking about Bollywood. Swing by and say hi.
And I wanted to give you all a heads-up about a new book releasing today - Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep. I was asked to read this to see if I would blurb it, and I really enjoyed it. It's very definitely urban fantasy, not romance - but if you're in the mood for something dark and gritty, check it out.
Here's an excerpt link, and here's a link to a free short story that comes before the series: Spider's Bargain.
Hope the new week's treating you all well :-)

Friday Book Club
I managed to get my paws on an advanced copy of Shalador's Lady by Anne Bishop (out in March) - if you've heard me talk about the Black Jewels world before, you'll know exactly how loud I screamed when I got it. I stayed up until all hours last night reading it. It's amazing, fantastic!
If you haven't tried this series, go forth now and pick up the first book: Daughter of the Blood. Trust me, you'll adore it.
Okay, your turn. What have you been reading and loving this week?

Sydney
As promised, some photos from my trip to Sydney.
The famous Sydney Opera House at night - picture taken from a water taxi in the harbour.
Above and below - a gorgeous spiral water sculpture in Darling Harbour. I was more than tempted to take off my own shoes and go play!
One of the miniature trains that take people for rides around the Darling Harbour area.
Looking out to the monorail bridge - you can just see the monorail passing across.
Harbourside in the day...
...and at night.
Hope you enjoyed the photos! Sydney really is a wonderful place to visit - especially when the weather is as clear as it was while we were there.

I'm back!
Sydney was lovely and as you may probably guess, I'll have a ton of pictures to share once I download them all.
The book signing at Galaxy went fabulously. I had such a wonderful time meeting so many readers! Sofia and the rest of the staff were just brilliant (thank you!) and I can't say enough about the store. If you like sf/fantasy & paranormal books and dvds, you'd love it.
Most of the shots from the signing aren't on my camera, so I'll be posting those later once I get my hands on them, but one of the attendees did a great post about it, complete with photos at Yet Another Tentacled Thing so swing by and check it out!
Edited to add: There's another awesome writeup of the signing at Book Thingo.
Also, my in-box is overflowing, so please give me a couple of days to get back to you if you've e-mailed me :-)
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Kindle Reminder & Random Goodness
First, a reminder for those of you who buy books on Kindle. There is another Nalini Singh who releases her books in that format, so please check my website or email me before buying if you're not sure it's one of my releases.
Jaci Burton is giving away an ARC of Bound, Branded & Brazen (out March). I've already had the chance to read this and it's awesome! Hot enough to singe your eyebrows off and full of the emotional connections I love in Jaci's work. Excerpt link.
(Both Monica's and Jaci's contests are closing soon.)
This is the typo I repeated most often in my most recent manuscript: "back" instead of "bag" <-- I have no idea why, because it's not like the keys are next to each other on the keyboard, and there's an extra letter even! #mysterious

Snapshot Monday: Cardiff Castle, Wales
Some pictures of Cardiff Castle today. It's right in the center of the city, and there's so much to look at both inside and outside.
Picture above: looking down toward the castle gates, from the tower building (pic below).
The walls around the castle are really fascinating - there are a number of these different animal sculptures along the fence-line, like the one below.
Some of the stained glass inside the castle.
And the amazing ceiling in the Arabian room.
A scenic shot to close - of the Welsh countryside.
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
