Woohoo, Monday - time to share some of my bazillion travel snapshots!
First up, here's a shot of this cool decoration/arrangement that they had at Singapore's Changi Airport. While taking the photo, I had a conversation with several Japanese schoolgirls who were on their way to New Zealand for a school trip - when I was studying Japanese, I never thought I'd be using it around the world!
This next shot is of the castle in Heidelberg, Germany. (Where, funnily enough, I also ended up using my Japanese with this really nice couple.) The castle is in ruins, but parts of it are still very well preserved - if you click on the photo, it'll enlarge it so you can see some of the statues along the wall better.
Looking up from the Heidelberg town, to the castle. (Imagine having a view of a castle from your back window!)
And isn't this chair so amazing? I saw it in Heidelberg Square and had to take a picture.
Hope you all enjoyed the photos! More next Monday :-)

Amazing photos, Nalini! It looks like a fabulous trip!
Such cool photos! (I'm jellus.) Did the chair have stuff stuck all over it like a mosaic? Thick stuff? Some looks like buckles & such--would it be comfortable to sit on?
Gail, my impression was that it was more of an art piece - because yep, it was mosaic'ed with all sorts of stuff.
The photos are lovely! but i am happy that you are back so we hear more of you now:-)
With luck I can see this castle for myself next year. (- If I`ll get the O.K. for a few schooling days in Heidelberg).
Is there a trail between castle and town? (Can`t see it on the picture).
Beautiful pictures Nalini! Thank you for sharing.
I remember meeting a group of Japanese in Heidelberg, more than twenty years ago (I was still at university), and in this group was one lady dressed tradionally (like you see those Geishas wearing -though modern Japanese seem to have a faible for bavarian fashion when you see them on the Oktoberfest in Munich). Well she had let some whatever it was drop and I had the honour of picking it up and handing it back. You could think that Japanese belong to Heidelberg, Uluru, Paris, Stonehenge, etc. but its probably that one just recognizes them. I don't know if one recognizes us germans when we pop up everywhere. Times change more people have the chance to travel. Luckily someone invented the english language. Coming back to Heidelberg - I married there and I loved that city. But times change and so does Heidelberg. PS The beautiful trail is on the other side of the river where you can see the Schloss. It's called Philosophenweg.Rolf.
Off topic, but -- thanks for the reminder over on lj that you post more frequently here. I've got you on my gmail Web clips now. :)
Am loving Snapshot Monday already :) Thank you Nalini!
The photos are spectacular! Glad you had such a wonderful trip!
Did I hear nudity at Oddshots? Must go be a curious cat...
You heard that five of those girls were treated for swine flu when they got here, didn't you? :-)
Rolf - Thank you!
Eva - glad to be of service.
Let me take a guess: Schooling in Heidelberg means 50% probability that SAP is your business. Greetings, Rolf.
Rolf - LOL. No SAP schooling, but a one-time schooling with the theme "survival training for case manager (HarzVI)".
