Speaking of German translations, I'm noticing a lot of website hits from Germany (hello everyone!), and I was thinking I should set up a page on the website with information in German. Except I don't speak German. *g*Anyone want to volunteer to help me out with some translating? Email me! (nalinisinghwrites AT gmail DOT com)

Nalini - question: do the names of the novels change when they are translated to another language? I do not speak German, but it appears that the names of the books shown here are different. I was just wondering.
I am German but I read your books in English. I tried "Eisige Umarmung" in German but don't like the translation.
The Covers on your pictures are from the special "Bertelsmann Buchclub" edition.
yes, the name of the books change. the first one is called "leopardenblut" (leopardblood) the second one "Jäger der Nacht" (predator of the night)the third one "Eisige Umarmung" (icy embrace" and the fourth one "Im Feuer der Nacht" (in the fire of the night) In Germany, the fantasy books don´t have such explicit names like the originals:-)

The covers are beautiful! I always wondered how books translated over into other languages - whether there had to be rewrites to convey things in the new language. Translating sounds like a hard job.
I know the internet is a world wide thing, and maybe I'm showing my age or lack of sophistication, but it's still exciting to me to read thoughts and impressions from someone in another country.

I have to say, I rather stick to the original books. Translations are often not half as good. You should read the german translation from caressed by ice! Just horrible! (okay, maybe i am exaggerating but I have to make a point)You are lucky because all the books are written in your native language. And i am lucky because i can read it as well^^

I think the translation is more a question of "how the translator interpret the original language". Sometimes it`s difficult, because we German use words, who not exist in the English language (And vice versa). In this case we`ve to paraphrase. By doing so, the original information can get lost...

I prefere the german covers...but not these version. It's the "Bertelsmann" Version. The common version is far better. ;-)
But about reading.... I always prefere the english version. Although my english is not so perfect...it's usually better than the german translation. I read the first 3 books in german until "caresed by ice". The translation does so suck, I throw it into the next bookshelf and never touched it again. Then I bought the english version. Since then...I always buy the english books.
To be honest...the first two books haven't been translated so bad like "caressed by ice".
