Bollywood: Ek Vivaah...Aisa Bhi

This is a sweet, heart-tugging and very traditional film. I loved it. The literal translation of the title doesn't quite get the meaning across, so I'm going to give you a less literal translation that goes more to the heart of the story: "And there exists...love like this, too."

Here's the trailer.

LOL, I'll have to add that to my list. I'm watching Khabi Khushi Khabhie Gham right this minute. I'd say youand Hrithink have converted me. Did you know that you and he make a great team?

I noticed that hulu.com has a few free Bollywood movies in their movies section if anyone is interested in trying them out :-)

Hmm...only watched a couple of Bollywood movies. Don't even know if they could be termed that. Would help if I spoke the language or at least understood it. :) Are they subtitled in English? At least some of them anyway?

And I just read the short story. You are a tease! In the best way of course. :D

Yes, thanks to your previous review of Jodhaa Akbar, my sister and I actually rented it on Netflix. We loved it!

Christy - I loved K3G. It made me cry buckets! And Hrithik is very watchable *grin*

Meljean - you guys are so lucky with all the tv shows you can catch up on! Hulu doesn't work down here.

Bridget - all the new ones are subtitled. They're good if you like dramatic, emotional movies with lots of singing. :)

Orangebeaker - yay! Jodha Akbar is one of my absolute favorites. It's so sumptuous and the love story of course it beautiful.

I had to comment on Christy's comment. K3G is partly the reason I am now happily married with a child. I took my now husband to see it in the theater on our second date. He cried (and totally tried to hide it), and I knew I was going to marry him.

Mina,
That is a wonderful story! I'm so glad you shared. I loved K3G by the way. I laughed, I cried, I had a smile on my face at the end. And, I'm pretty new to Bollywood movies but that dance number with Hrithik, SRK and BigB...that's some star power! I'm so glad I bought the movie even without having seen it first. I'm working through a Hrithik obsession at the moment so I've purchased several of his movies. It's all good though because he's inspired a story that I'm working on. ;)
