Updates & Weekly Catchup

Okay, I know I said come back the day after the Branded By Fire ARC giveaway ends, but there are a lot of entries. I've got a bunch in my inbox as well, and I want to make sure everyone goes in the draw, so I'm going to collate all the entries over the weekend, and post the winner on Monday.

Also, I've been thinking of doing a Friday book club. Instead of us all reading the same book and talking about it, I thought we'd all recommend something we'd read recently and enjoyed, maybe with a few words about a favorite scene or character. What do you think?

Onto the catchup. I'm on the final stretch of Angel book #2. What are you all up to?

Interesting idea of a book club; I could get introduced to an author I really like. My weekend plans, however, are rereading Psy/Changeling books (and thinking of ways to get Nalini give more ARC's) By the way, Nalini, when are you going to replace the poll on the side?

Nalini Singh said...

You read my mind - I was thinking we needed a new poll. Ideas?

T said...

About a new poll... something intriguing (but not giving anything away of plot) about Branded by Fire. Or any random, funny poll about anything you like (chocolate?)

I like the idea of a book club. Just think of all the cool recommendations we'll get from each other. :)

I'm busy hoping I go into labor soon, but not this weekend because my OB will be out of town. We're all set and are chomping at the bit to meet our new addition. Boy or girl? We don't know yet! The suspense is killing us. Wicked fun, that. LOL

New poll ideas? Maybe something like "which Psy-Changeling hero do you lust after the most?" *cough*Judd*cough* Or perhaps "If you were a changeling, what animal would you be?"

The book club sounds fun!

Courtney: Crossing my fingers for you! Hope it goes quickly... I'm going with Vasic (since he's still "free" *g*)

I worked late, inventorying a fun collection of pop-up books from 1983 to 2009. Now I'm going to go home to dinner, and then do homework for my graduate school class. In between all of this, I'm rereading Garth Nix's Abhorsen. I love that trilogy!

Out of town on a business trip but heading home tomorrow - YEA! Book club sounds great - I get lots of my reads from blog and message board recommendations...

Am glad the writing is going well Nalini! And as for the entries....popular ARC methinks :)

Good poll ideas Courtney! And I will keep my fingers crossed that your new addition decides to play ball and wait for your OBGYN to come back :) All the best with everything!

As for the answer to the poll question *grin* ...I'd say Lucas but he is kind of taken...Hawke perhaps, although probably...dare I say....OMG I've forgotten his name! *embarrassed* The youngest Psy Council member...from Russia....help, please?

Ooooo I got chills when I read that you're almost done with Angel book #2!! I'm SOO excited!

I like the idea of the book club, by the way! I'm always looking for new authors :-)

So do we still have to wait till 2010 for Angel's Blood 2?

The Book club sounds like a great idea. Being introduced to new authors is always a great idea to me!!!

Nalini Singh said...

Yep, still 2010. This series is set to come out 1 per year. That way, they'll be evenly spaced out. :)

The idea of a bookclub is great-getting recommendations and maybe hints on good new books-can't wish for more (mmmh..maybe winning the latest ARC but that's on another wishlist).

Besides waiting for Brande By Fire (wich makes me crazy enough, so no reason to make it worse by getting too excited about Angels Blood 2) I plan to do some homeworks for college and after that rewarding myself with something sweet, watching the 1st Transformers movie and enjoing the sunny weather outside, while reading something (maybe Christine Feehan or Sherrilyn Kenyon, because I gave a friend all my Psy-Changling books to read *sigh*).

Love the idea of a book club!

Not doing much this weekend, probably re-reading faves, although last weekend I did get to read an ARC by C.T. Adams & Cathy Clamp, and reviewed it. Maybe next weekend I can get a chance to read & review a certain *cough* Branded By Fire *cough* ARC by a certain *cough Nalini Singh *cough*.

I would love to do the Friday Book club. I've read The Black Jewels series because someone here recommended it (and loved it, I just finished it last week). I'm all in for it!

As for the poll - I'm up for anything Singh series (now that we have two to follow) related! I like all the ideas that have been proposed.

Nalini - if you are almost done with Angels'book #2, does this mean you are done with Dev's book? Might we know who's next or is it a surprise? (So exciting!!)

Courtney - congratulations on your soon-to-be-here little one! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts for a safe and healthy delivery soon!

Heather - how did you get an early copy of Lover Avenged!?!? It's not out until April 28th! I'm so jealous!

I have a fundraiser to go to tonight (Ciopinno night) and then going on a wine tour tomorrow with hubby and his parents. After that, I hope very much to be able to read this weekend (I just got City of Glass from the library along with Alyssa Day's first two Warriors of Poseidon novels).

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Courtney - keeping my fingers crossed for you and praying for a safe delivery :)

The book club idea is great.

This weekend is supposed to be beautiful here in NY/NJ, so BBQ and reading in the park with my daughter seems to be the plan.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the ARC on Monday!

Love the idea of a book club, such a good way to find new authors and books to read (though given the current height of my reading pile maybe I should curb my enthusiasm a little).

I like the idea of a Friday bookclub! I actually lost my book wishlist when laptop gave it's last smoking breath last week; so I could definitely use some recommendations!

As to what I'm doing, I'm waiting for Angel book #2. Seriously, I can't wait for it!

Back in reality land, it's actually finals week for me, so I'm in panic mode and that's why I'm up at 2AM :P

I like your bookclub idea Nalini! Not sure I would come every time, but it sounds like a great way to share book recommendations :).

We are having a beautiful summer day (in between two days of 15 C), so we're using the opportunity to do a bit of spring cleaning in the house. Then I'm waiting for the night to come so I can go back to reading Lover Avenged - nighttime is just better to read about vampires. Lol. Heather, I'm glad you enjoyed the book! So far I'm liking it a lot, too.

I can't wait for the next Psy-Changeling book. I am totally hooked on this series.

Book club would be amazing. Recently moved across the country and have been searching for a book club locally to get out and meet some people. How a MAJOR city cannot have a decent book club that is easily found I have no idea!

And Hawk...yea he's just amazing. I can't wait for his story!

Ok, I'll comeback on Monday. Friday bookclub sounds good.

LOL on not finding a decent book club Amanda. I have the same problem. Love the idea and I'm always looking for new recommendations.

Having great weather for a change, doing some spring cleaning and getting ready for the week. :)

Una, I remembered I never answered this. (If I've missed any other questions, feel free to lob them my way again.)

Dev's book was handed in earlier this year. I should be getting the first round of edits soon.

I can't announce who the next book is about yet, but hopefully soon :-)

I really like the book club idea. I'm re-reading a book by Jennifer Crusie. Its called Agnes and the Hitman. I have to wait till mid-may before I can start re-reading the changling books. Atleast thats what I told myself.
