Whisper of Sin Now Out!

The stand alone ebook of WHISPER OF SIN is now out everywhere! I hope you all enjoy Ria and Emmett's novella!

Don't forget, this Psy-Changeling novella is a reissue. It wasn't part of Wild Invitation, but was in a multi-author anthology titled Burning Up

Happy reading! :-)

Reading & Writing

I'm working on the first draft of Psy-Changeling #13 (Vasic's story), and he's making me a little crazy. So difficult to get him to talk!

In other news, I opened up Whisper of Sin to check something tonight and ended up reading the whole novella. I adore Emmett and Ria. This particular exchange between Emmett and a young Dorian (the story is set a few years back) made me grin.

"Sooooo...what happens if I flirt with Ria?"
"I use your ribs to make a wind chime."
"That's what I thought."

If you haven't read this novella, it'll be available on its own in electronic format in March next year. It's currently available as part of the Burning Up anthology, which is completely awesome and includes one of my all time favorite novellas by Meljean Brook - "Here There Be Monsters".

It's now after midnight and I feel like a little more reading - hmm, what to choose (not that I don't have a towering tbr pile!)

What are you up to?

Friday Book Club

Before I kick off the book club, a heads-up that my agent, Nephele, is giving away copy each of Burning Up and Angels of Darkness on her blog, so drop by and enter the draw if you'd like to win one of the anthologies.

Now, onto the books we've been reading this week! What are you enjoying at the moment? I'm focused on the Wild Invitation novellas at the moment, so I've been spending time in Psy/Changeling lands.

Okay, your turn!

New Zealand: "Burning Up" ebook - Whitcoulls

A heads-up for NZ readers. The ebook for Burning Up is now available at the Whitcoulls ebook store!

Update on the Kindle edition: Here's the link! (Not sure if it's active yet, but if not, it should be very soon. Apologies for the delay everyone - there was a technical issue with the files so they had to be resent).

Burning Up is out!!

Burning up is out! My story is "Whisper of Sin" which features Lucas's admin assistant, Ria, and her wickedly sexy hero, Emmett.

It's an awesome anthology - but you don't have to take my word for it. There's a detailed review of it over at Dear Author if you'd like to have a read.

Also, I noticed a few emails in the inbox about the ebook edition of Burning Up - here's where the ebook edition is available so far (list blatantly stolen from Meljean's blog) and I expect it'll be up on all the usual sites within a few days:
BN.com, the Sony ebook store, Diesel, Books on Board, and iBooks.

I landed in New Zealand early this morning, and am now in catchup mode. More later, after my head stops spinning!

Whisper of Sin Excerpt

I'm working on copy edits for Bonds of Justice at the moment, and really enjoying reading the manuscript again after having turned it in a few months ago. :-)

The copy edits for Whisper of Sin (novella featuring Ria in the Burning Up anthology) will most likely arrive soon, too. Which reminds me that I haven't shared an excerpt from the novella yet. So, here it is! I hope you enjoy!

Unedited advance excerpt from Whisper of Sin

(Ria and her hero have been sparring in a basement gym in this scene.)

“How did I do?” she asked.

He glanced at his forearm. “I didn’t teach you the biting.” It was a snarl.

Or maybe he hadn’t been playing the whole time. “I decided to add it on my own,” she said, though in truth, it had been an instinctive response to his arrogant provocation. Her eyes went to the marks she’d made. Deep and red and perfectly formed. Guilt invaded. “I didn’t mean to bite you that hard. But…I’m not sorry.”

“Oh?” He walked over, slow, so slow. This time, she backed up. It was one thing to play with a predator who was keeping his claws sheathed, quite another to know you were prey. He kept coming. She knew the door out of the basement was only about a foot away. Making a quick move, she went to dart left.

Too late.

He was there before her and somehow, she found herself pasted up against the closed door, very aware that she was all alone with a big, dangerous leopard in human skin. Except instead of fear, it was a vivid excitement that beat in her blood as he placed his hands palms-down on either side of her head and bent until their breaths mingled. “Boo.”

She jumped, then wanted to slap herself for it. “Stop acting the big bad cat.”

A blink and when he raised his lashes, the eyes that looked back at her were in no way human. “Mmm, I smell a pretty little human in my territory.” A soft whisper against her lips, bright green-gold eyes daring her to respond.

Her breasts brushed his chest as he pressed closer, her breath coming in jagged pants. “You’re behaving very badly.” It was a husky reproach.

“You bit me.” He angled his head a little to the left and though she couldn’t see those amazing eyes except for a glint through his lashes, she knew he was looking at her lips. “Say sorry.”

She didn’t know what made her do it. Parting her lips, she said, “No.”

Cover goodness & Max's Book

The title of Max's book is...*drum roll please*...BONDS OF JUSTICE! It fits the book beautifully! (The original working title was Lash of Need, and I believe it's listed that way online, but that should be updated soon.) I'll have a full chapter excerpt for you November 5th!

Ria's novella is titled "Whisper of Sin" - and talking of Ria's novella, here's the cover for the anthology!

Also, if you entered the contest yesterday, I've edited the post to add the winner's name :)
