Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews. It is the last book featuring Kate and Curran. It is a really good book. Lots of loose ends tied up. The book also gives the reader possibilities of what's to come with other characters from the series.

If anyone has never read the Kate Daniels series and starts to read Magic Triumphs, Ilona and Gordon put into their acknowledgements that those new to the series should start at Magic Bites (this is the first book in the series). I agree since a new reader would have lots of questions that can be answered in previous books.

I had a most excellent reading week.

My favorite book read this week was Shannon Stacey's Under Control (Boston Fire #5). Loved, loved, loved the heroine, the hero, and their romance. Plus catching up with the series' regular characters.

I also quite enjoyed Nicole Helm's Cowboy SEAL Redemption (Navy SEAL Cowboys #2). I had a few issues with her A Nice Day for a Cowboy Wedding (Mile High #4), but they were mainly due to a specific subplot, not the main h/h, so overall I liked the book.

Finally, I enjoyed Jeffe Kennedy's Prisoner of the Crown (Chronicles of Dasnaria #1). This is the first book in a prequel trilogy to her The Twelve Kingdoms and The Uncharted Realms series. This first book is NOT a romance, but covers how and why Harlan (the hero from The Talon of the Hawk) helped his eldest sister, Jenna, escape from Dasnaria. The trilogy is all about her journey and will have a HEA by the end, but this book was dark. We were told much of the background of this story in The Edge of the Blade, but with this book you read about the events from Jenna's POV and she's such a wonderful character. Looking forward to book 2's release next week.

Magic Triumphs for a second time. It's fun, yet crazy.

Just finished Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews yesterday, and it was very satisfying. I'm glad that the heroine and hero got a (somewhat) happy ending and that we'll probably see them again!

Not sure what's next from the TBR list, since Rebel Hard doesn't come out until September 18th!
