Friday Book Club

Time to talk books!

Recently, I read ARCs of Julie James' A Lot Like Love and Meljean Brook's The Iron Duke. Both are fantabulous books that I loved to pieces, so keep an eye out for them! More closer to their release dates.

Talking of ARCs, you might want to make a note to drop by the blog next week. Just sayin'... :D

Okay, your turn, what've you been reading and loving this week?

Super jealous that you get to read those ARCs!! :-)

Just finished What happens in London by Julia Quinn. Cute story. The ending is the best scene in the book!

yay! I can't wait for The Iron Duke to come out! It sounds so interesting, and the excerpt on Meljean Brook's site left me wanting more :( Currently reading Maya Banks' The Darkest Hour, I'm about halfway through and not so sure about it, but reserving judgment until I reach the end...

Re-reading the Psy-Changeling series. Killing time until Nov 2, and wanting to know why a wolf alpha is named for a bird?

There's a scene in Kiss of Snow about Hawke's name *grin*

I can't wait for The Iron Duke! It looks so awesome, steampunk is such a fun genre, and I really like her Guardian series.

I am rereading your Psy/Changeling series, pacing myself, one book a week till POP. This week is Mine to Possess. Also starting An Artificial Night by Seanan McGuire and continuing the Immortals After Dark series.

Love the quote on FB, can't wait to see the story about his name, and really can't wait for next week!

Oh, The Iron Duke was awesome... i loved it.

I can't remember what else I read this week...

Nalini does the New Zealand Constitution ban cruel and unusual punishment? If so I think your torture of your loyal readers with such tidbits about Kiss of Snow means you should be in the pokey! LOL

Primal Instincts by Susan Sizemore, just just started it

Dark Peril by Christine Feehan. Next up: Sin Undone by larissa Ione, and Amaryllis and Orchid by Jayne Castle (JAK).

Amaryllis, Orchid, and Zinnia were the books that introduced me to the concept of paranormal romance so many years ago. It was these three... Dara Joy... and not much else. And now look at the genre! :)

I am wicked excited that they are being released on Kindle!

No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I've been missing the dark-hunters.
Have read all your books at least three times each.
I read about seven to eight books a week so unfortunately I'm always desperate for something new.
Can't wait until Nov. Also, so looking forward to Kiss of Snow!

I am currently reading a lot of Crime novels from the library on my Sony. I have a bunch I'll finish during the trip to Barcelona. Also, I bought Visions of Heat during WH Smith's sale. And plan to read it soon :)

As for paperbooks... I got lucky in the Berkley Give away.
Hopefully I'll have a book package waiting when I come home from Barcelona.

Oh, and agony? That is finding two books you want and not buying them, cause you might get one of them for free in a contest... If I don't win, I'll buy them both on Monday. LOL.
If I win? I'll be very happy, since I don't have any Arcs!

I am loving Larissa Ione's Sin Undone. I still have 3 of Nalini's books to read and a Kresley Cole. :)

I have been reading Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. The third book of this series wasn´t that good, but this one, the fourth book, I liked very much!

I'm really looking forward to the Iron Duke - and PoP, of course. In the meantime, for leisure I'm finishing Dee Davis' Desperate Deeds and for work, The Art of Deception by Kevin Mitnick.

And why were you grinning about the scene for Hawke's namesake ????????

Rory G said...

Just started Witch Fire by Anya Bast. Jealous of the Julie James ARC - I love her stuff.

Sarah W said...

Just finished No Mercy, and quite enjoyed it. I've almost given up on Dark Peril, the hero is a domineering jerk, and I can't get over it. I'm just about to start the last Dreamlight book.

Waiting for Angel's Consort and Wicked by Evanovich.

Recently Eternal Kiss of Darkness by Frost, Her Fearful Symmetry by Niffeneger,Psy-Changeling series (1-7), and a whole slew of others. But this steampunk romance thing sounds really cool. Too interesting not to take a bite.Definitely trying to keep Brook on the list of TBR.

I'm now re-reading your Psy/Changeling Saga for at least the fifth time...
You should really tell the secret of Hawk's name- I'm dying right here!
And I NEED Archangel's consort! Can you please hurry up?
Until then, what can I read?

Nalini:

Just finished re-reading GH series. Please please tell us that we will get the background stories about the Seven and whether they get their HEAs....like why Jason hasn't sang in centuries, what happened to Aodhan in the past, more about Dimitri and Illium .... Is Caliane still alive? Who now joins the Cadre of Ten since Uram and Lijuan are no longer part of it?

I just started reading No Mercy (Dev is HOT!). Will be rereading the Psy-Changeling series in preparation for Play of Passion....changeling men *sigh*

I'm looking forward to both of those books!!!

I read Everything and the Moon and Brighter Than the Sun by Julia Quinn and The Rogue and the Rival by Maya Rodale. None were my favorites by the authors, but were nice escapes from reality and mostly enjoyable.

I am almost done the Rob Thurman's The Grimrose Path. I LOVE it thus far, and am very excited about what will happened next. The first book in this series was amazing, and the second book seems to be holding its own, too. The narrator doesn't ever let you see all her cards, so nice surprises pop up here and there, while she still gives you hints along the way. ^^

I've been reading "You're the One that I don't want" by Alexandra Potter. I love her books and since I don't have to do anything the next two weeks, I am free to read as much as I want. :)

I read No Mercy as well; I liked it, although the whole Nick Gautier side plot is driving me crazy, as I'm trying to figure out where it's headed. While I'm really intrigued by what's going to happen, it makes no sense at the same time.

But all in all, I'm just killing time until November 2nd as well (followed by January 25th and then JULY 2011!). Ughh, I never thought I'd WANT to get older so soon, lol.

ps. Thanks for giving us another facebook KoS quote! Can we do that every Friday?! haha.

A bit belatedly, but...I'm currently reading two fantasy novels - Janny Wurts' Ships of Merior and Lynn Flewelling's Traitor's Moon! Both very good!

Am thinking if I can clear the deck to starting Ginn Hale's The Lord of the White Hell Books I & II this weekend.
