I'm zonked from staying up late (3 pm) last night to help my family deal with a major leak in the walls during a humongous storm in Chicago last night. Tons of towels, wastebaskets, books soaked, groan....
The house is okay. At some point we have to deal with the books that got wet. Ouch. And we really have to get the bricks tuckpointed and other work... The house is over a hundred years old and needs a lot of work.
Anyway, it's been hot and humid since then. The papers are saying that nearly 90,000 thunderbolts hit northern Illinois: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-lightning-06-aug06,0,2543310.story Ooof, definitely the storm of the century. No wonder we got soaked.
