Polaris Rising by Jessie Milhalik This is a scifi romance and a great story - fast and furious with strong heroes who can manage on their own, but choose to be together. I love Ada von Hasenberg - she's awesome and kind and responsible and also totally able to kick some. So much fun :) I keep re-reading bits ever since I finished it last night.
I loved Jessie Mihalik's Polaris Rising (Consortium Rebellion #1). I had requested it from the library, but they didn't buy it yet. It's a pricey book ($9.99 in the US) and more than I would normally pay for an author's first book. But I had enjoyed her earlier (unconnected) novella, so I bit the bullet and bought it. It was well worth it!
I also enjoyed JD Robb's Connection in Death (In Death #59). The mystery was average, but lots of fun scenes with the series regulars.
I’m reading Cast in Oblivion by Michelle Sagara and rereading Freedom’s Ransom by Anne McCaffrey. I can’t get enough of the classic books. I just love sci-fi books. Cast in Oblivion is heavy reading, but I will really get into after I finish reading Freedom’s Ransom.
I'm reading Honor Raconteur's "Charms and Death and Explosions". Polaris Rising is in the To Be Bought list, but I've not gotten it yet. I think I will re-read Archangel's Prophecy this weekend.
I'm reading the third of Jordan Rivet's fantasy series Steel & Fire. It's sort of YA but with early 20 something protagonists so the romance is less first love than a YA would be. Great swash buckling action with a reversal of roles between the romantic pair - the woman is the sword wielding rescuer of the troubled Prince.
I'm only an occasional romance reader so the leavening of will-they-won't-they byplay worked well for me.
I read Polaris Rising and the Queen's Gambit by Jessie Mihalik. Loved them both. If you like space opera, these two books might be of interest to read.
I also read Connections in Death by JD Robb. This one was interesting. We finally get to see an owner of a bar/ strip joint fall in love (those of you who read the series know who it is). The beginning of the book is wonderful.
