It's time to talk books! What are you reading and loving this week?

p.s. Preorder links for Shield of Winter (Psy-Changeling #13) are starting to pop up, so check out your favorite store. Don't worry if you don't find it yet - it's a June 3, 2014 release, so it's very early! The other links will slowly go live. :-)

Thanks for the link, just pre-ordered it.^^

I've also read the German edition of Kresley Cole's "Lothaire" and liked it very much! If I'd known the original version before, I'd probably preferred it too, though... Unfortunately, translations often can't keep up with the original; it's the same with Nalini's books. The (German)translatians are good, but the originals are better.

What I can highly recommend to every Austen-fan, though, is "Darcy's Diary: Pride and Prejudice through the eyes of Mr. Darcy" by Amanda Grange. I finished it yesterday and absolutely loved it! In my opinion Grange's additions to Miss Austen's work are at the same time refreshing, filling gaps and adding aspects that were only mentioned or summarized in the original story, while still being very authentic. Even at the end, when Ms. Grange took more artistic liberties than in the rest of the story (still without crossing the original's framework of course) and her own voice became even more clear, everything still fit neatly and authenticly in with the original plot. Furthermore it was sometimes really funny when I already knew what would soon come poor Darcy's way when he was still clueless, or when he could only guess what Elizabeth was thinking (and was grossly wrong :D). I highly recommend it!

I have just re-read Shadowfever, which I alternate between loving and hating, such a vivid world, but the story is all over the place.

I have started rereading the Mr and Mrs. North series of mysteries by the Lockridges. Old fashioned but still very interesting. I love them because Pam North thinks like me, she puzzles people by leaping from Point A to Point G without explaining Points B thru F. I.e. everyone else is talking about forests and she mentions, Michael Jordan , which makes no sense unless you know she leapt from forests to Sherwood Forest to Robin Hood to him appearing in a book by Christopher Stasheff, which has Wizard in the title which makes her think of the Washington Wizards which makes her think of Basketball and Michael Jordan. Of course that makes no sense to most people and makes people think she is not quite normal. yet usually her leaps of logic lead her to the murderer.

I just finished Angel Fall by Susan Ee. It was one of those "Oh no, I'm done!" moments. The end puts you so on edge, and her sequel doesn't come out for another month.

Speaking of angels, I'm so looking forward to Archangel's Legion! I can't wait! :D

I just read Rogue's Passion and I stopped in the middle of it, I just couldn't finish it. Also I read Deadly Fear by Cynthia Eden, which was a great book.
Right now, I'm reading Mercy's Magic by P.J.Day and Elizabeth Basque, up to now I think I like it.
Nice Day everyone, greetings from Germany.

Just finished Shadows by Robin McKinley. I loved it. She doesn't do sequels so I'm left always wanting more, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the ones I have read. (more than once)

Finished with Unattainable by Madeline Sheehan, third book in her Undeniable series. Loved it just like the previous books, regardless of the dark theme of them. They just rip your heart out while making you really think about your own life and relationships. Not for your usual romance reading, but definitely worth a try. Before that, reread Angels´ Blood to keep me sane until Archangel´s Legion ;)

Trying to valiantly finish Gena Showalter's Black & Blue. I think she gave up trying to learn to write without explicitness and has gone back to the old style. I must be stodgier than I thought as I'm getting tired of reading most books in the last decade about people limiting relationships to activities of the midpoint of their bodies. Makes me wonder how long these couples would stay together if one of them became unable short-term or long term for such actions.

Aside, will Zach's Annie ever get to thank her train helper? (hint hint)

I just reread all the guild hunter books in anticipation of Archangel's Legion, I can't wait. I have already emailed amazon and said I ordered this book last Feb. why aren't you preparing it for shipment, lol

Just read Thea Harrison "Dragon Bound" and "Storm's Heart" can't say that the characters were interesting. Mostly, they seemed very stock and motivated by little more than misplaced hormones.

I've also been re-reading all of the Guild Hunter series and I am counting down the hours to Archangel's Legion!
