Friday Book Club

Book club time!

Currently, I'm reading Demon Blood by Meljean Brook (out in July). I think Meljean's writing gets more beautiful with every book. The emotional intensity of the relationship between Rosalia and Deacon is so incredibly compelling - I stayed up way too late last night reading "just one more page."

If you haven't read Meljean's books before, she has lots of info over here.

Your turn! What've you been reading and loving this week?

I tend to read a couple of books at a time. Bad habit, I know. Still continuing with Shattered Sylph and just starting Three Days to Dead.

I have read Meljean Brooks .. The Guardian series is great. Just got done reading Ilona Andrews' Magic Bleeds. The suspense! Dishes did not get done yesterday.

Been on a book binge this week. Have read Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews, Married by Morining by Lisa Kleypas, and Beast Behaving Badly by Shelly Laurenston.

Next in the feeding frenzy is Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. I've heard many good things about this series and am ready to give it a try.

Anna - you have to read the first 3 before you can past judgement on the series... the bb I hang on has that rule. Then there's only about 30 more to go :)

I'm slowly reading all the Breed books and Hqn RS has all my fav authors - Merline Lovelace, Rachel Lee etc this month so those are my "sitting in the hospital" books for the week.

I just got Caressed by Ice this morning in the mail. I have read it via the library but I am slowly getting copies for myself.

Magic Bleeds I am still waiting for at my indy bookstore.

Next up is Shannon K. Butcher's Running Scared. It is from her Sentinal Wars series. Quite good.

After that is Magic Bleeds. I am super excited about that.

For now, I am re-reading Slave to Sensation. Was reading Branded by Fire a couple of days ago and realized that I had forgotten a couple of things from the first story. Good reason for a redo.

I have 100 pages left to read of Magic Bleeds and I must say that it is fantastic. Andrews' Kate Daniels series just keeps getting better.

Interesting series! I'll check out that Guardian Series next.

Picked up Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews and Glimmerglass by Jenna Black this week.

Soulless and Changeless by Gail Carriger. Steampunk, werewolves, romance... and they're so funny. Now if only I didn't have to wait until September for Blameless to come out.

I'm also partway into West with the Night by Beryl Markham and loving it. She was an aviator living in Africa in the 20s and 30s (also a racehorse trainer) She has a wonderful turn of phrase and it's an interesting story from a different time.

I was very busy learning this week but yesterday I could read the last pages of Elijah (Jaquelyne Frank) because my exam is over (I should better say I have to do it again) I like her books very much and I am starting with Damien now. : )

Ack, jealous! I cannot wait to get my hands on that book. I love Rosalia's Gift.

And I'm waiting for book goodies to hopefully arrive in the post today and tomorrow. Or I may end up on a Godzilla-esque rampage...

I'm reading Blaze of Memory (yes, I know, how could I have waited so long!). I know this is a weird comment, but I love Will!

Next is the third Sandra McDonald book - The Stars Blue Yonder - although I'm hoping Shalador's Lady might appear sometime soon!

Happy weekend all!

I read Gena Showalter's "The Darkest Angel" from Heart of Darkness, and I bought The Darkest Passion, I hope to have time to read it tonight after work! I am so excited to read Aeron's story!

I have to reread Blaze of Memory, I read Orianna's comment and went "who's Will?" *gasp*

I personally am not a fan of the In Death Series. I really can't stand the main woman, she is one of Nora Robert's formula characters I just can't stand. I tried the series but gave up. I can not wait for Parker's story in the Bride Quartet though!

I am going to list my books and IF the book fairies don't throw me in a different direction toward completely different books, this is the plan for the holiday weekend (Memorial Day here in the States).

Stealing Kathryn-Jacquelyn Frank
The Court of Angels trilogy, Out of Body, Out of Sight and Out of Mind by Stella Cameron
Blood Born-Linda Howard and Linda Jones and maybe some of Nalini's series romance from the old days.

Listening to while doing junk around the house (from Audible)
Molly Harper's Nice Girls Don't series-Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs, Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men and Nice Girls Don't Live Forever
This series is so good. Molly has a sense of humor to beat all. If you haven't read any of Molly's books YOU SHOULD!! You will laugh your a*s off!!

Have a grat weekend everyone!!!

Now I am going to try The Help by Stockett, not my usual but I have a Kim Harrison Madison Avery Part II as backup and No Werewolves Allowed by C McCray which is Nix Part II

MAGIC BLEEDS!!! I was so awesome. I got it on release day. I even set aside Gena Showalter's The Darkest Passion, which I was 20 pages away from finishing, to read it because I couldn't wait.

Darkest Passion was fantastic up until the final conflict resolution, which was WAY too deus ex machina for my taste. But the rest of the book was excellent and I totally fell in love with Aeron.

I just finished Sherilyn Kenyon's Chronicles of Nick -- Infinity... and all I have to say is WOW -- I know the book is billed as YA -- and yeah, i totally get that, it was a really quick read. BUT, she's setting up this little mini-series (I think there are going to be 12 books) and then the last book merges with the Dark-Hunter books. And I won't ruin it by saying anything, but if you read Dark-Hunters, you are gonna HAVE to get this.

I've just finished Archangel's Kiss. Amazing writing Nalini. Very gruesome though. I had nightmares afterwards of someone chasing me with a big sword!

I just finished reading Archangel's Kiss - Amazing! You are my new favourite author :). I read the whole book in one sitting last night. I couldn't put it down! The other book I'm reading is Stargazer (2nd book) from the Evernight series. I just ordered the first 4 books in the Psy-Changeling series too. Can't wait to start reading them!
