In our countdown to the release of Archangel's Eternity, we're now at book seventeen of the Guild Hunter series. In Archangel's Ascension, we follow Illium and Aodhan as they investigate a case for the Tower that echoes the darkness from Aodhan’s past. I cried when I read this book. The section when Elena walked in Sara's funeral procession made me stop reading for a moment. Deacon went first, then Sara. Oh boy.
At least Illium has his core group around him in his new territory. The goodbyes were sad to read. I liked that Shadow is Aodhan's cat. At least she doesn't need to rescue her person from the dreaded water like Smoke tried to do with Illium.
Love that Aodhan & Illium got two books as it seemed only fair. I have mixed emotions about Eve and Zoe but happy for Elena (hope that's vague enough even if spoilery). Loved that Mahiya and Jason had some page time. I still need to reread this one before Eternity.
