Saturday Links

"Amazon.com Inc., which has sold more than 12 million Harry Potter books online, said it bought J.K. Rowling's handwritten volume of fairy tales for 1.95 million pounds ($3.98 million) at a London charity auction yesterday...." Full story here.

"I bet no one ever received her CALL while she was wielding a nailgun on a rooftop..." From Gennita Low's First Sale Story (I'm seriously addicted to these stories, and this one rocks.)

It's the holiday season, and The Knight Agency wants you to come party!

Is it a leopard? Is it an ocelot? No, it's an ocicat. Check out these pictures (scroll down on the page) of a rare breed of cat that looks like a miniature leopard. I'm fascinated...

That's it for today. Have a safe and happy weekend everyone. :-)

The ocicats are really cute. I have a fat abyssinian (15 lbs or 7.25 kg). Most of the time I feel like she owns me and not the other way around.

Kat, oooh. Is that Roman or Julian? Now I have a mental image of them which I didn't before (g). So do changelings have pets? I haven't seen any in the series yet. Also, where are grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins??? Sorry but it's been bugging me that packs should be full of related people but we aren't seeing the interconnections. Do changelings have shorter lives than humans? Where are the very old? Hello Nalini, can you answer these questions please?

Kat - OMG, too cute. I'm going to have to keep that picture! (Nalini - also loves leopards :) )

Christina - I didn't know about them until this week! They're adorable.

Aymless - LOL. Oh, to be a cat. ;)

Jenny - good question and I can definitely answer.

Changelings live very long, healthy lives, so yes there are older people. And there are connections.

Why don't you see so much of this?

Biggest reason is the length/pacing of the book. It can get a little complicated introducing a lot of secondary characters when they don't have a critical part in the story. BUT, having said that, if you follow the series closesly, you'll start to see links.

An easy example is - in "Hostage to Pleasure", Julian and Roman go to visit their Grandparents (Sadie and her mate from Tamsyn and Nate's story).

There are also a number of interesting family links in the 2008 novella that connect in with a character mentioned in MINE TO POSSESS.

So, the links are spread through the books. Which ones are explored depends on the stories. Hope that makes sense! :)

Grr, ignore typos. They make me crazy. Blogger need to have an edit function.

I wish bloggers had edit abilities.

Thanks for the tidbits, Nalini! I can't wait to see Taly in MTP. I am really curious now to see how the humans relate in this incredible world you've written!
