Review & Bollywood

It's Christmas Eve!! That means it's Christmas tomorrow! Lots of sunshine down in New Zealand - I'm thinking the beaches will be packed for the holidays. :)

I've already gotten a very nice present - tugsduck, one of the winners of the ARC Contest, read and loved MtP. Here's what she said in the comments to Friday's post:
It was awesome! I read until my eyes wanted to pop out of my head (much to the chagrin of my boyfriend!).

This book is just as good if not better than those preceding it. It has humor, poignancy, and sensuality (much to the pleasure of my boyfriend once I was done reading!). Clay and Talin's story was the bomb!

This book will be added to my keepers to be enjoyed again and again...
for all of you eagerly anticipating the release date, it will definitely be worth the wait!

Yippee!! Thanks tugsduck! And now, I have a present for all of you. I recently watched a Bollywood movie called Om Shanti Om. There's a lovely song in it - I won't translate it except to say that it's super-romantic, and the title line means (not an exact translation): "In your eyes, there is a kind of magic."

The video below is actually a trailer for the movie, but it uses the song (a really short version). If you want to hear the beautiful full version, search Ajab Si on YouTube (or better yet, go see if the movie's playing near you!) Also, in case you wonder about the costumes - the first half of the movie is set in the 70's, the second half in the present day. Enjoy! :)

Hi Nalini!
Congrats on your first MtP review! I'm not the last bit surprised it is a great one!

You're the second person to recommend Om Shanti Om to me this weekend! My friend who recently saw it now has a major crush on Shahrukh Khan. (I'm more of an Arjun Rampal girl, myself ;) She got the soundtrack for Hanukkah and says it's wonderful. I'm going to have to see the film over the holiday, too!

Happy holidays!

p.s. Warm New Zealand beaches sound just divine....

Congrats on the good review, Nalini :) I´m really eager to read it, but I guess that I´ll have to be patient until it arrives, Argentina is not near USA -to say the least-. Happy holidays, and remember to use sunblock when you go to the beach :)

Bel

PS: I loved the song...
PS2: Have you gone to Egypt? I´m thinking of going there next year, it seems it´s likely to be a beautiful experience...

Christine - I'm a major SRK fan. I think I have most of his movies - you must his stuff! Though I have to admit, I love Arjun Rampal, too. :)

Bel - I haven't made it to Egypt yet. It's on my list. I agree, it seems like it'd be such a beautiful place to visit.

Teresa - thanks!

Hope you all have a great holiday, however you choose to celebrate!! :)

Congrats Nalini! I just know that I am going to love it. Mine has not yet arrived. I think the poor mailman thinks that I am going to mug him for it when it arrives.

Happy Holidays to all.

Nalini, hoping you get some beach action during the holidays and tons of reading under your belt (and no work!).

That Bollywood clip was totally fun. I have seen clips before of bhangara dances, but this was different. Very cute!

Congratulations on the good review, and I know 2008 is going to be a great year of reviews! Merry Christmas!

Aymless & Bel - Just wanted to say that all the ARCs were posted out on the same day, so hopefully you guys should get your copies soon :)

Keira - I'm working on the Angel book and LOVING it. It's the best kind of work. Hope you have a great holiday, too!

Congratulations on the great review, Nalini. I'm sure it's the first of many.

Everybody have a great holiday season.

P.S. I can't tell you how strange it is to hear the beaches should be packed for Christmas. Weird. ;) It's cold here. And I don't think we're going to get a white Christmas, but I'm OK with that. A bunch of people in other parts of the U.S. have gotten way more white stuff than they wanted or needed.

Hey Nalini, it'll be Christmas with you by now so hope Santa's been and that you have a wonderful day.

And everyone else here, whatever your timezone - Enjoy and keep safe.

That movie was wonderful! I laughed so much in it. Not sure if you want another one that makes you laugh as well but if so, check out Jab We Met.

I also admit to having a weakness for the song Dard-E-Disco which makes me cringe and dance at the same time...
