Is there a gift that you've given or received that has been especially memorable? ~Ashwini

When my brother was in the Army, he was in Killeen, Texas to teach Army medics at Fort Hood. He came to Fort Worth to visit me and my mom. His birthday was coming up, but we didn't know what to give him. I looked at what yarn we had, and I made him a blanket (afghan) in shades of blue. We gave it to him as an early present. It was the first thing he put in his car before leaving. He still has it. I saw it when I visited last month. 😁
A particularly memorable gift I was given was a packet of very out of date biscuits that I was allergic too.
A good one I gave was when I recreated a friends worn out handbag for her 70th birthday. I had also made a couple of tweaks/improvements she asked for. I also made the same friend a patchwork quilt for her 60th.
Memorable gift I received would be the combo Christmas/birthday of a set of Cuisinart pots and pans. Memorable gift I gave was a Vitamix blender(the old blender konked out). That one got my dad to insist that it was a combo birthday/Christmas gift from three people. Another Memorable gift for the same person a few years later was a mug saying "yes, my birthday is in December. No, you can't combine it with Christmas"
