SPOILER ZONE: Atonement Sky

This is the dedicated *spoiler* thread for Atonement Sky and earlier books in the series. Spoilers abound, so be warned!!

Usual rules: be kind to your fellow commenters and have fun. This spoiler thread will remain active as long as the blog does, so you can join in at any time. :-)

We don't monitor the thread for questions, so if you have a question, you can email me (nalini.assistant AT gmail DOT com).

If you're at an earlier point in the series and would like to discuss that book, click on the Spoiler Zone tag and it should bring up all the previous spoiler threads.

Enjoyed the romance. Loved that Adam—after taking his temper out on Eleri for what he saw as her betrayal during the first part of the book—finally got a clue, realized it was not her fault and then apologized and did better! Good for Eleri to stand her ground about needing to talk to him about Reagan. And that she understood while what he did was wrong he hadn’t had a choice and that he’d ensured she did not have to suffer the same fate.

Loved finally visiting the Canyon and meeting some of the falcon wing. Loved Saoirse and her family. Liked the secondary romance between Dahlia and Bram as well.

I thought the killer was obvious from their first named appearance but that’s not a bad thing. Liked that while the Sandman was a catalyst for Eleri coming to town the book had multiple other story arcs as well.

The Naya/Naia connection didn’t disappoint. Squee! I was so happy that Sascha and Naya actually appeared in the story. And Sophia and Max (though I had hoped to see them so weren’t as much of a surprise). Plus Jaya and Abbot and others. Relieved Jacques survived.

Since this is a spoiler thread I just want to say WOW. So happy Saoirse was able to develop the device to help not only the Js but humans as well. That closes a loop open since early in the first season. Such a clever way to solve the issue. Hoping they eventually come up with a fix for the Psy wearers to be able to use their telepathy or other powers if they want.

I am anxious to see what happens next, not only with the PsyNet but the remerged NetMind/DarkMind. Plus what is the rest of the Consortium up to and where are the missing members of BlackSea? Ming? How will they deal with the Psy experiencing Scarab Syndrome? Who did Kaleb hire to be his senior assistant? Will we ever know the name of Attie & Dex’s baby? These and many more questions.

Even once the second season wraps up this world is so expansive and there are so many characters I still want stories for. There’s so much left to explore. We obviously will need a season 3. (Not that the Trinity arc is close to wrapped up, I am just putting it out into the universe LOL).

I could go on but this is long enough. Thanks for so many hours of reading and rereading enjoyment.

I liked that there is now a viable way forward for the shields. But again as library addict has mentioned - so many things to be resolved and I am so looking forward to many more stories. (I wish really hard that the same happens to the Guild hunter series !!! I am so not ready to say bye to my favorite couple !!!) I am planning a re-read next week to savor it slowly. I am also happy Jacques survived. I desperately want to know how "Operation Ming is a dead man" works out. I wonder if the next book will be around a human - since they can now use shields !
