I just finished The Girl on the Train for my book club. I'm reminded why I don't like the suspense/thriller books. I hate the building tension, even though the end was totally worth it and I'm excited to talk to the group about the characters.

Just finished reading Patricia Grace for our special Matariki Book club here at the Library. Have the new Sara Gruen focussed on Nessie the Loch Ness monster underway for something totally different.

Finished reading C.L. Scholey's Unearthly Worlds series, the first 5 books. The fantasy elements are interesting and a number of side-characters were appealing. But the editing...! Like M.K. Eidem. The main characters were rather boring (kinda like Alexis Morgan's Paladin females); too many american citified 'earthly' lingo were used by aliens whose worlds and cultures are very different; continuity problems (one books had a scene where an alien villain drops dead, without having shown up in the first place); and as always, the focus on insta-sex, even when people have significant physiological differences and language barrier. There's #6 coming out sometime and I'm hoping the writer does better with more experience and review tips. Because, the babies sure are cute.

Finished the last three books of the Dark Tides series by John Ringo. I just kept re-reading all the books over the weekend.
