Good News & Friday Book Club

First, some awesome news - the German translation of Hostage to Pleasure has hit the bestseller lists!! Thank you to all my German readers :-)

Now, the bookclub. To start with, I must rave about Meljean Brook's steampunk novella in the upcoming Burning Up anthology (out in August). It's all kinds of awesome and then some. I now plan to stalk her until she gives up the full length steampunk novel (The Iron Duke) that she has releasing in October. *rubs hands*

I also read John Wyndham's classic Day of the Triffids this past week. I couldn't believe I'd never read it before. If you like science fiction, this one is a must.

Okay, your turn! What've you been reading and loving this week?

OH MY!! I Can't wait to get my hands on that anthology!!Cover looks great and it has 4 awesome authors in one!!What a great tat!!

I have actually been reading a few different authors this week. Right now I am "reading" Alyssa Day's Atlantis Redeemed. Really good. She is a keeper author.I love her hunky warriors!!

I have also been listening to Molly Harper's Nice Girls Don't have Fangs, Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men, and Nice Girls Don't Live Forever. What a hoot. I read them a while ago but I needed to laugh a little this week and they are "laugh out loud" books.I have them on Audible. The narrator, Amanda Ronconi did pretty good ,(in my opinion.)

And last I have been listening to 3 books by Maria V. Snyder. They are her urban fantasies, Poison Study, Magic Study and Fire Study. They have a little romance but I would say PG rated. I think they are good stories maybe a 4 star out of 5. They are a little different from what I usually read but I like them. It's nice to mix things up in term of the format I read. The narrator for these book did okay too, again in my opinion. The reader is Gabra Zackman, also on Audible. I can't wait till your books are out on Audible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Now that I have written a gazillion words, have a great weekend and thanks for sharing your talent with us Ms. Nalini!!!

OOPS!!! I forgot my GREAT news!! I was finally, after 2 years of waiting, approved for my Social Security Disability. It's been hard not only not being able to work a job I loved but not work at all. This is such a blessing for us. I also want to encourage anyone who is fighting for SSD, hang in there. It will happen, it just takes a while. Maybe I can start writing again since I have the time and this worry is off my mind. Ms. Nalili, if you need an extra proof reader, I'm your girl. HEE HEE.

I recently dive into to the world of non fiction, which I do from time to time. I read Making the Rounds with Oscar. Its about a cat that can sense death, in a dementia ward. Interesting reading.

I am now enjoying The Dead Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan, the follow up book to her first novel The Forrest of Hands and Teeth.

I've just started the Troubleshooter series by Suzanne Brockmann. Those are excellent! I have the whole series on my shelf and plan to zip through them... I'm on #4 now. I've also been rereading the In Death series, which I adore. The humor and romance in both series are wonderful.

I also read Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley and loved it.

I don't have a lot in my TBR and the little that I have, has impressed me lately.

I have a huge list coming from ILLO, and County systems... maybe next week.

I am currently stuck in the middle of Allison Brennan's Original Sin... I'm going to have to walk away from it for a while.

In the TBR library list is a Meljean Brook's. Except for the anthologies I've never read her books. Hopefully, it'll be here next week.

http://www.goodreads.com/fw2books PSST... reviews are for me only... if you disagree... post on your own goodreads pg. I had to part with a "friend" this past week b/c she was upset I didn't like her favs.

Off to put your SF recommendation on hold. Thx.

I've been rereading Eileen Wilks' Lupi series, and am currently reading Night Season. Do go read her if you haven't already done so!

Another recent read I really recommend is Miranda Neville's The Wild Marquis.

I'm looking forward to a bunch of books coming out at the beginning of April....

I'm between new books right now, so I reread Stroke of Enticement (loooove Zach), then reread Angela Knight's futuristic werewolf story in the Shifter anthology, and now I'm going to reread Hostage to Pleasure. I swear, Nalini, your books NEVER get old.

And I'm mad at my local Target because I got the first two of Joss Ware's Envy books there, and loved them, but they didn't get the third. GRR!!!

I'm currently reading The Adamantine Palace. I'm not that far in, but so far so good.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Chaucer, I've been reading Chaucer. The original version.

I'm desperate for some light comedic relief.

I finally got time to sit and read the latest IAD novel. So, so good! I have been waiting for Garreth and Lucia's story since the first book and I so fell in love with it! It certainly met all of my expectations. My only complaint is that Carrow's book is next, not Regins! I've been waiting for hers for just as long.

I also finally got my hands on Lora Leigh's Kiss of Heat and Hot For the Holidays (with Lora's novella). I really can not wait till Jonas' story comes out.
