Loved Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews. Best April Fool's prank ever. For those who don't know the hero of this book - Hugh, was the main baddie (besides Daddy dearest) in the Kate Daniels series. On April 1, 2017 on their blog Ilona posted a snippet of a WIP about Hugh being redeemed into a hero(as an April Fool joke). While many said it couldn't be done and no way could they forgive the heinous acts of the character, enough were intrigued and demanded to know more that Ilona decided to actually write the story. So not sure who the April Fool's joke was on, us as readers because they didn't intend to write such a book or on Ilona Andrews because the fans trusted their talent enough to want to see if redeeming Hugh was possible! It was done perfectly and am looking forward to more in the series.
I am also loving my second read of Ocean Light. I always read a new book by yourself, Ilona and a few others so quickly the first time that I reread within a month.I pick up on nuances I missed on the first read. Also decided to try something different and reread The Lost Lords series by Mary Jo Putney. Very enjoyable historical series that does a great job of bringing that time period to life because she includes factual history.
