Friday Book Club

Friday Book Club time. What are you reading this week?

I have to give a shout-out to the Anonymous commenter who recommended Timothy Zahn's Quadrail books on a previous post. I've just read Night Train to Rigel and really enjoyed it. Check it out if you're in the mood for some sf/mystery. A train across intergalactic space! What's not to like?

Okay, your turn!

WOOT!!! This is the anonymous that did the recommendation....So happy you enjoyed the first book of the QuadRail series. I envy you for beginning this series brand new. It is a fun read.

I just finished Cast of Sorrows and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Three days weekend here in US so I'm thinking about starting James Rollins Blood Gospel. However, if it's too involved may slide over to Rhys Ford Whiskey and Wry instead.

I'm in the midst of the Carniepunk anthology. I'm enjoying the stories - urban fantasy and a little horror - but I'm getting annoyed by the addition of "punk" to just about anything.

I'm currently re-reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series...on Devil May Cry...Styxx comes out on Tuesday..but Dark Lykan by Christine Feehan comes out the same day. I'll start Dark Lykan then switch back to Kenyon's series...just patiently (cough cough) waiting until Archangel's Legion comes out 10/29 :-)

Am currently reading Dream Lake by Liza Kleypas. I don't normally read chicklit often finding the characters flat and unbelivable. But Kleypas manage to tell her story with so much sweetness and charm, that you're completely bowled over. It's like reading Love Story all over again. I also like that most of the story is told from the guy's point of view which is a nice chance.

Dream Lake is nr. 3 in her Friday Harbour series. Christmas Eva at Friday harbour and Rainshadow Road the two first in the series is equally as good :-)

Just finished 'Night Train to Rigel' - pretty cool story. It took its time to get into the flow of the story (there was a lot of set up required) but it was certainly worth the ride.

I'll check out more books in the Quadrail universe... I like a bit of corn with my SF.
