And it's Friday already! What have you been reading and loving lately?
I've been rereading the Psy/Ch series this week to make sure of some continuity factors, but I did want to mention a novella (36k words) I had the chance to read as an ARC - Kaily Hart's Rise of Hope, which is now out.
I met Kaily at Lori Foster's Get Together a couple of years ago, and when I heard about the new paranormal series she was writing, I knew I wanted to have a read.
The series has a really cool concept (why did a paranormal race suddenly start abandoning their children at hospitals and other locations a couple of decades ago?), and I found Rise of Hope a fast, intriguing read. I'm looking forward to seeing where Kaily goes next with this series.
Here the blurb (and here's the excerpt link):

Here the blurb (and here's the excerpt link):
A secret ancient race of humans with fantastical abilities, the
Vadïm are on the brink of extinction. Many of their women are imprisoned
by an organization known as The Assembly, their history all but lost...
Devon
Monroe has been a prisoner her entire life. She's determined to make
sense of the strange markings on her body, to learn why no one may touch
her, to find where she belongs. That means escaping into the unknown,
where she has no choice but to trust her self-appointed protector.
Soldier-for-hire
Seth Eastman has a job to do: deliver Devon to safety. When Seth
discovers the markings on Devon's body, he's stunned at what they mean.
And at how she awakens his long-suppressed needs. As they struggle to
escape detection and search for the truth of the Vadïm, can he ever hope to claim her for his own?
And can I add a woo and a hoo that Archangel's Storm is almost out!!

Hello from Germany,
Rise of Hope sounds very interesting, I think I´ll have a look. I just finished "Howl for it" an anthology by Shelly Laurenstone (WOOHOOO for Egbert Ray Smith - a story I waited long for) and Cynthia Eden. And I finished the third book of the Dragon Lords of Valdir - hillarious read. Till Archangel´s Storm I will try to climbe my to be read mountain further. I choose the alphabetical way by series actually it is "D" as Dark Series by Christine Feehan.
Have a nice weekend

Right now I'm reading A touch of crimson by Slyvia Day. I'm thoroughly enjoying it thus far. Also, if you're re-reading your psy/changeling series for continuity checks, are you about to start on the next novel? :D
Just ordered Rise of Hope :) Don't know what I am going to read next. Have two Morganville books to read and two Kenyon Dark Hunter ones to read, plus another hundred or so to chose from!!!!! Need to read faster (or stop buying...hahahaha). Archangel's Storm ready to be sent so that will be read as soon as it hits my hand. :D

Woo and Hoo back at you!!!I'm waiting too!
Readong the 3rd of4th Nora Roberts: Savor the Moment; this is strictly a romance but she writes them so well.
@Roxy - I might actually be writing it right now ;-)
Cant wait to hear more about the next psy/changeling book! (I´m no Kaleb fan, but you hooked me Nalini. I definitely want to read more about him and his "quarry").
I´m reading FALLEN by Lauren Kate. It´s book one of her fallen angels trilogy.
I bought Obsidian...can't wait to dive in.
I entered before I remembered what else I wanted to say...I love seeing you every Friday and reading what everyone is saying and reading. It has lead me to some really interesting reads that I wouldn't have considered. All that to say, that I really enjoy having you on my FB it is always great to log in and see what you posted and what others are posting in response...so thank you.
Reading Obsidian right now. Good read.
I'm rereading Archangel's Kiss;-
"Pressing his lips to her temple, he rocked her as the stars got piercingly bright, as the lights went out in the ledges below, as the wind grew freezing with a touch of snow. He held her until her tears were long gone and the moon kissed her wings like a lover long denied. Then he rose with her to the sky."
Such beautiful, beautiful writing Nalini
I was lucky to get an advanced reader copy of Rise of Hope. Love the premise and will definitely read the next book in the Fabric of Fate series.
Now, I'm dying for Archangel's Storm and waffling between purchasing the ebook or paperback or both. I guess I'll have to haunt your blog for snippets/quotes until it releases. LOL
Forgot something...I'm reading Meljean Brook's Riveted, Karen Marie Moning's Faefever(for the first time!), and Helen Scott Taylor's Finally Home.
Have reread toni griffin's holland brothers series(m/m) and shelly laurenton's howl for it was really, really worth the wait!Have started Laurann Dohner's Obsidian but can't wait for more psy/changeling books.wish you could write more.have preordered next years available books frm amazon.

I'm reading In The Dark of Dreams by Marjorie M. Liu right now but its a frustrating read. The main characters just do not mesh well and it feels forced.
I do have to say i cant wait for your new book to come out.
Re-read Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. If you read historical romances you should (must) read this book. Its wonderful : )
Also just started Quinns Undying Rose by Tina Folsom-this is book #6in her Scanguards vampire series-im about 1/2 way thru and there is this big secret thats keeping me intrigued-what could it be?
Just finished Under A Vampire Moon by Lynsay Sands.
Roxanne
Rise of hope sounds like a interesting read thanks for sharing it with us Nalini. I just finished rereading Ria and Emmet's story in burnig up and now waiting for ArchAngel's Storm to come out. I'm glad to hear you might be working on another psy/changeling book already. Can't wait!
Archangels Storm arrived yesterday (so quick), but had stuff to do, will start it today. Can't wait.
Elaine
The Hunger Games and re-reading the Guild Hunter series while I wait patiently for Archangel's Storms release her :D
I am reading Monster in My Closet, by R.L. Naquin. Oh my goodness! I do not think I have laughed out loud so many times. It has a great story, hysterical characters and the lead is loopy in such a good way. Excerpt "I've seen you around town," he said. "Mind you, the way you dress, everybody's seen you around town. You look good today, though I'd rethink the big flower in your belt. Sometimes you go overboard, which, really, is half the fun in watching for you. ...But we really do need to find you a purse that doesn't say 'homeless person', don't you think?" And that is one of the more "normal' interactions because he is one of the only humans in the book. Just a great read, I do not want it to end.
