JD Robb - Celebrity In Death

It's no secret that I'm a huge, huge fan of JD Robb, so when my New Zealand publisher, Hachette, which publishes the In Death series here under its Piatkus imprint, asked me if I'd like some extra copies to give away as part of their release week celebrations, I jumped at the chance to share my JD Robb love with you all.

I cannot wait to read this myself, but I promise I won't steal one of these five giveaway copies! ;-)

Here's the blurb:
The latest novel in J.D Robb's addictive 'In Death' series, where Eve Dallas specialises in tracking down those who break the law – including the ones sworn to uphold it.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas is no party girl, but she's managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity‐packed bash celebrating The Icove Agenda, a film based on one of her famous cases. It's a little spooky seeing the actress playing her, who looks almost like her long‐lost twin. Not as unsettling, though, as seeing the actress who plays Peabody drowned in the lap pool on the roof of the director's luxury building.

Talented but rude and widely disliked, K.T. Harris had made an embarrassing scene during dinner. Now she's at the centre of a crime scene and Eve is more than ready to get out of her high heels and strap on her holster, to step into the role she was born to play: cop.
To enter the random draw, leave a comment on this post on the main blog (rather than the Goodreads feed), with your answer to one of these questions, by 5pm Tuesday Feb 21st 2012, New Zealand time.

If you're a JD Robb fan, what do you love about these books?
If you're new to the In Death books, are you tempted to give them a go?

The fine print: Contest is open internationally. One entry per household. No purchase necessary to enter. Winner(s) will be chosen randomly using random.org and his or her name(s) posted on this blog on Wednesday Feb 22nd, 2012. Winner(s) will have 72 hours to contact us at the email given in the announcement in order to claim their book. Void where prohibited.

(p.s. The author of this post didn't receive any compensation for raving about the series - she's a crazy, mad fan happy to talk about these books to anyone who'll listen!
p.p.s. Roarke is mine.)

I've been a fan since several books in, and reread them on a regular basis. I like the growth in Eve's ability to bond with other people through the series, as well as the ensemble cast.

I love this series - I'm almost all caught up with it, finally! I love Eve and Roarke's developing relationship, but I also love how Ms. Robb/Roberts changes up the crimes in each of the books. I also laugh at how Eve deals with her friends.

Kristi said...

I love that Roarke carries around her button :)

Christine said...

I love that in addition to reading about Eve and Roarke kick criminal butt, we get to see their relationship grow over time which is rare in a series. Plus there are a lot of sweet and funny moments provided by the supporting characters!

Jeska D. said...

I love the relationship between Roarke and Eve. I typically do not enjoy reading linked books but this series took me completely by surprise and that was largely due Roarke and Eve and how they interact with each other. It is not often you get to see a relationship deepen...how, yes, married people argue but they make up and move on no matter how painful because they love each other.

Terri said...

The books have a mystery, a love story and humor. Each book stands alone but builds on the one before. I love how the characters, esp Eve, are growing. I find the chocolate thief a hoot and how Eve's eye twitches whenever Peabody talks about McNab. And who can forget Summerset! LOL!

I've been reading the In Death books for years now. I really enjoy the series because it lets you stay with the couple past the "I dos" and into the workings of the marriage and the growth of the characters.

Tammy S said...

I to love this series! One of the reasons is the relationship between Roarke and Eve. Another is Eve's realizing having friends isn't a bad thing.

The "In Death" series has been languishing on my TBR pile for ages. Not sure why I haven't got to it yet, but all the raves make me want to dive right in!

maered said...

This is one of my favourite series. Firstly, I like the fact that Eve is an independent kick-ass character. A strong heroine is always a plus. And, of course, Roarke. He is the ultimate romance hero, I think. Reading the evolution of their marriage is definitely one of the appeals.

Diane said...

I love Roarke!!!! Also the interaction between each character and how they have evolved since the beginning of the series. I never wait for the MM issue, I buy these in HC.

I've heard a lot about these books and am curious to try them. I love mysteries so this may be a good combination.

I love the In Death series for many reasons. One of the top is that Eve and Roarke's relationship is not always easy, but the depth of their love holds them strong even during the most difficult of circumstances. I love that the mystery aspects of the novels have held true throughout the years, and that I can't guess the endings. I love that even as the number of people in Eve's life grows, and we see her develop emotionally, she still 'rings true' and is recognizable from the first novel through the most recent.

T said...

Thx for the giveaway! The thing I love about the In Death books have to be the cast of characters - I have grown to love Peabody, Nadine, and Mavis...not to mention everyone else. But the thing I love most? Roarke. Need I say more? :)

Lauren Fisher said...

I love the In Death series. I can't even count the reasons why. There is Eve, who is just...Eve. Determined, focused, badass - and scared of animals and children. :) The relationship is realistic. The other characters are all wonderfully developed. I read these and laugh every time. Love them.

p.p.s. Eve (and every fan out there) might have something to say about that. ;)

Lynnette said...

I love these books. The relationship with Roarke, Peabody etc is fascinating as it progresses. The secondary characters have personality and are well developed

Maree Anderson said...

I adore this series. And what I loved most early on was how quickly Roarke and Eve got married, rather than having it drag on and on. It's such a great dynamic having a married couple in a long-running series. Love Eve and Roarke, and Peabody and Nadine and Mavis and the rest. (I especially love Roarke, but we won't go there as I'd probably embarrass myself *g*) And as an author and a reader, I love the skillful way the POV switches are handled and integrated seamlessly into the story. I can only hope to one day have the skill to do that without it annoying my readers! Basically, hey. Its the In Death series. What's not to love???

khaschke said...

Woohoo! I'm excited! I've re-read the series in the last month in anticipation of the release next week!

I'm not new to the series - I love how Eve's character learns to depend upon and enjoy all the people in her life.

I've never read any of JD Robbs books, but they definetly sound interesting based on the book descriptions.

I just started with the In Death series in December. What can I say? I'm currently reading book 16 and I can't get enough Roarke! I love the mistery, the dialogues, and above all Eve and Roarke's relationship and to see how their love evolves. I could keep reading about them forever <3

Drea said...

I have loved this series for years! I am behind a few books...but do that on purpose so I can read a bunch in a row to get my fix!! I love Eve's strength... and her occasional weaknesses that pop up. Makes her someone you can relate to.

This is one of my favorite series. I love the character development and their relationships with each other. Eve and Roarke are such a wonderful couple. The In Death series made me realize I could suspend my reading reality which opened up so many new doors! Great contest!

Maria Lopez said...

The first book is still my favorite, when Roarke and Eve meet. I love how much Roarke loves Eve.

I just started the series last year and quickly went through every book so now I am all caught up. I love the evolution of Eve and her relationship with herself and the people in her life- especially Roarke!

Catherine said...

I love the relationship between Eve/Roarke--they just "get" each other. Even when they'd rather not be "gotten"

Jen said...

JD Robb's In Death series was actually my introduction to the genre of mystery/romantic suspense, which has been one of my favorite genres since! In short, I love JD Robb's books because of Roarke and Eve, but the mind-bending plots and moments of snark are also a huge plus.

scrown said...

I love this series! There is always some new twist or turn that makes the series just as fresh as it was 20 some books ago. I never want these books to end!

Mirissa said...

I love the series because of the interpersonal relationships - Eve & Roarke, Eve & Dr Mira, Eve & Peabody, Eve & Feeney and Eve & Mavis. I love Roarke's coolness under pressure except when it comes to his wife. I love the fact that he just loves saying 'my wife' in that tone that gets Eve's goat every time. I love her squeamishness over anyone seeing her coming out of the limo at the cop house or Roarke kissing her at the cop house. I love that taking meds makes her loopy. I just think the series is awesome.

Anonymous said...

I love this series! I have all of the books. I look forward to reading the new addition to the series.

Jaclyn M said...

I have been an In Death fan for years (if I don't win a copy from you, I will no doubt buy the first copy I see in stores), and it's all because of Roarke. Eve is a wonderfully fascinating character, but Roarke adds so much to her life. I love seeing him bring balance (love, riches, excitement, support in all things) to Eve's sometimes one-track murder mind. Plus, Peabody and McNab are one of my favorite secondary-character relationships ever!

Mujerluminosa said...

Dear Nalini, I too, love JD Robb's In Death series -- I adore the strength and growth of Eve and Roarke's relationship, I love the 'family' that Eve has created reluctantly - Peabody and McNabb, Mavis, Bella and Leonardo, Summerset, Dr. Mira and her hubby Dennis, Nadine Furst, Feeney...and its widening reach. I love that she's not into fancy and yet she is grateful all that she has achieved and all that is possible because of Roarke's love (and yes, his immense wealth). I can't wait for Celebrity in Death, and then Delusion in Death this September! Thanks for the contest. Your books are fab -- I adore the Psy Changelings and Guild Hunter series -- amazing work!! thank you.
Cheers,
Stephanie

What is'nt there to love about this series!! Eve and Roarke make such a brilliant couple and I was totally hooked from the first book I read and hav'nt stopped reading them since! I love the fact that she is a kick ass female cop who is strong minded and a role model and has found Roarke to match her feistiness!! And Roarke ahhhhh sigh*!!! Words cannot define him!! so overall the series is one of the best series written and there's always something to keep us entertained, it's always fresh and new! Love it as its a brilliant gift to the world!!

I have loved this series for years. I love all the characters and how they have developed and the relationships they have formed over time; but what I love most is Eve and Roarke's relationship. I love how they are truly foils of each other one a cop one a former thief, they both had similar beginnings but choose different paths and somehow found each other and despite their differences fell in love.

I love the J.D. Robb books for many reasons. One of which is that I admire Eve Dallas. She has overcome a very difficult childhood and has dedicated her life to helping bring murders to justice and speaks for the dead. She has come a long way in her relationships with others and continues to do so. Plus I just like how she is one tough kick-ass bitch cop!!!

First Eve is such a strong, believable character, that draws you in and you care about her. I probably am like several others and would love my own Roarke, the bad boy with a heart of gold. The other characters that you have grown with through the series. I lappreciate that you get more characters to follow through the series. Put all this in with murder mysteries, who doesn't love a good mystery, and you have the complete package that takes you away.

Jenny Schwartzberg said...

I've been reading J.D. Robb since the first book in the series and as her alter-ego Nora Roberts since the 1980s. I love her books. As for the Robb books, Eve and Roarke, SIGH. I love their interactions and how they grow and change throughout the series but remain in love. And all the other characters, Mavis, Peabody, Mira, et al. They are so wonderfully human! I really would love to win a copy!

Anonymous said...

I am a die-hard fan from these futuristic murder plots (the amount of imagination Nora has is unimaginable haha) and I especially live for the short but super sweet moments when Roarke and Eve are together whether they are on a date or just on the link. And of course the supporting characters are super fun too. Peabody is hilarious! So can i please have one???? and a Roarke too if there's stock hee hee. Thanks!!! (turquoise_yve@yahoo.co.uk)

catteibrie said...

The draw for me in this series is that Eve is such a strong female character whose vulnerabilities don't diminish her strength. She has grown throughout the series. I also enjoy the interaction between Eve and Roared. A little "bad boy with the gentle side" with a dose of "oh my" love scene heat never hurts any murder mystery. And make no mistake, the "mystery" remains a mystery for me until JD Robb reveals it. Even if I think I have part of it right, there's always a twist I didn't see coming. The plots never seem repetitive, which I appreciate. Plus, who doesn't love finding out what's going on with Mavis, Peabody, McNab et al. It's Eve's world and I love to read about it!

Love the relationship between Roarke and Eve. One of the main reasons I keep going back to the series.

I've loved J. D. Robb's In Death series since middle school, when I started reading the books after finding out that it was a series Nora Roberts was writing under a different name. I've been completely addicted since - I swear I've read every single book in the series at least ten times. I love her books because it mixes realistic crime with a cast of characters who show that one can be strong despite- or perhaps because of - one's flaws. It's been a real pleasure watching these characters change and grow - especially McNab, Morris, & Charles Monroe!

So, uh, can I please have a copy? Pleeaase? *puppy eyes to the max*

There are so many aspects of the In Death books that I love. First is the absolute realness of the books. The characters are people you could meet in real life and look up to, with highs and lows that engage us and allow us to relate. The bonds between the characters are beautiful, unique, inspirational and often comedic. Thesr books go farther than typical, and should be on everybody's must-read list.

Jocelyn said...

I am a huge fan of the series. I love the relationships the author has built, both the romantic ones and the friendships. Although the police procedure/murder mystery is also awesome!

sarenan said...

I started this series last year and had to read them all, one after another. I love the development of Eve throughout the books. In a way it reminds me of the Spenser series by Robert B. Parker in that the main character starts basically alone and collects a support system as the books come along. And, of course, Roarke!

Kirstin said...

If you're new to the In Death books, are you tempted to give them a go?

I am always tempted by new authors. It is a frustrating thing that I can read books faster than authors can publish them.

Sandy said...

I'm a JD Robb fan and there are many reasons why I love her books. But the main one is how she makes the characters come to life. Sometime when I talk of Eve, Roarke, Peabody, Mira or anyone in the series I actually talk about them as if they were real. I share the "In Death" addiction with my mother and we really do discuss the characters as if they were our friends. I think that is what makes "In Death" unforgottable.

Amber Lockhart said...

I stumbled across my first JD Robb book when I was thirteen, and I've been reading them ever since. Probably a good thing my mom didn't start reading them until I was almost out of high school. Lol. Like others commenting, I love the relationships in the books. Eve and Roarke, Eve and Mira, Eve and Peabody, Peabody and McNab, Roarke and Summerset, all of them fascinate me! I also love the cases. The mystery, the answer that aren't what you expect, how tragedy affects individuals. Eve's dedication to finding the killer and getting justice is so inspiring.
Love the series!

My favorite part of this series is Roarke and Eve's relationship. Roarke is really the perfect man for Eve, to ground her and protect her from all the crimes that touch her life. He's so supportive and deliciously intense. I still love their scenes together after so many books!

Beyond Ms Roberts' ability to combine the professional and personal lives of Eve, Roarke, Peabody and the rest of the gang, I am amazed at how she creates secondary characters that linger in your memory. If I mention the doctor, the designer, the hair dresser, the bar owner, the former licensed companion, the news reporter... I bet die hard fans have no trouble rattling of their names!

I've been in love with this series going on 11 years now and each book gets better. There is something about the way Eve goes about solving murders that makes the mind churn and leaves you clutching the edge of your seat. J.D. Robb is a genius!

I've been reading this series since there were only a half-dozen titles! Eve has truly developed/matured over the course of the series, and who could resist Roarke! The humor, mysteries, and all the secondary characters also draws the reader into the stories.

What I really like about the series is that Eve and Roarke are in every book. Their relationship doesn't stagnate, and is so alive that you can almost see it growing. Over time, there are revalations that explain the people they are, but in a manner that is just so exciting. There are of course the sub plots, deep supporting characters, romance, murder and the gripping threads of a procedural drama. I'm surprised that no one is making a TV series out of the In Death series.

Jolau said...

I love this series and would love a chance to win a copy of the book!

What I really like about this series is that it focuses on the main couple, Eve and Roarke and we can see their relationship developing and maturing through trails and triumphs. It simply doesn't assume a Happily Ever After for the couple but test them and we can see that a relationship is mainly about wanting to make it work. Like when Roarke gives up his vengeance for Eve. :)

Anonymous said...

I have been reading this series for what seems like ever now - got into it through the combined book of Nora Roberts/JD Robb 'Remember When' and figured I'd have to give the series a go. It's brilliant. I love it because they're murder mysteries but they're not stuffy, they're completely accessible, charming and funny. The dialogue is superb and the chemistry between all the characters just makes it feel like you're tuning into a new episode of a series every time you open a book. Also love how I never know the murderer until the end unless it's one that she expects you to know and then I pray that I'm wrong because the alternative is just disturbing.

Schenni said...

What I love most about this series, are the relationships Eve is forming step by step. There's Roarke of course :D, but also all the other characters that form a friendship with our kick-ass heroine. Trueheart, Baxter and Morris are my absolute favorites! :]

Totally love Nora Roberts aka JD Robb! She is one of the best storytellers of all time for me! What I love about her "In Death" series is how Eve and Roarke became stronger and better even though they grew up experiencing a horrible and tragic past. How they found love for each other and because of that love, they are able to slowly open up and truly let their relationship blossom.

I have never read JD Robb before but because you have recommended her I'd definitely have a look see at one of her books =)

Wow! I'm a big fan and I can't pass this opportunity to win the next installment in the serie...
What I like about it, other than the fast pace and each story in itself, is that there is an evolution in each relationship (Eve and Roarke, Peabody and McNab, ...). There are birth, death, break-up new beginning... The characters are very life-like, they don't stagnate when they find love or frindship, they experience life and its problems.
I like that the characters are not either good or evil but a mix of the two, that they face choices and have to live with the consequences.
And, what's more, the serie is fun to read, I know that, when I open one of the books, I wil laugh, cry, be angry but never desappointed.

I really hope that Nora Roberts keeps writing books int the serie, and I can safely say that I'll buy each and every one of them!
But, Nalini, you're wrong... Roarke is MINE!

Hey there. Im a huge fan of In Death books. I love the relationship developments as the seires progress. As wonderful to see how people - Eve, Roarke, Peabody, Feeney and all the other recurring characters - have matured and grown not just individually but as a fmaily. I think that is what makes this series so real and relatable. Its not a happily ever after fairy tale, its a very real story that shows flaws as well the good side in people. Its the way they deal with various situations - its funny, its raw, its practical, it has anger and pain as well as love - basically, it has all the facets of life and that makes is what it is.

I hesitated a long time before I ordered the first book of the series. Well, I got it and couldn't put it down. The world J.D. Robb paints in the series is fascinating - the cool cars and devices (I'd love to own an autochef :-)!!). I love Eve: she's strong and tough and has a very big heart. I love the way she "grows" from book to book. I absolutely adore Roarke. First, he's Irish and I have a huge soft spot for Ireland and the Irish. Second, he looks good, is rich but not aloof. All the other characters are really great, too! So please, please, please - I'd love to get my hands on the new book sooner!!!

I'm a huge fan. I've got all the books in the series. I LOVE Roarke. I reckon that's reason enough. Need I say more.

I love J D Robb, don't have all her books but I love reading her stories

I love the JD Robb series most for all the character relationships - it's so much fun to watch them develop across the series!

azteclady said...

I love the characters, and by that I don't mean just Eve and Roarke, but the whole cast. I love how they all continue to grow through the novels, how they build relationships with each other, how they become interconnected through either Eve or Roarke--sometimes both--and establish their own friendships/relationships.

And there are constants (Eve and Summerset's bickering, Peabody's obsession with the size of her ass) that are absolute delights to read.

And then, Robb's voice *grin* under any and all names.

I love this series! Eve is pretty awesome!

I love all of the books by J.D. Robb. The reason I love this series is Roarke's sexiness and Eve's strength.

Biki said...

I love love love JD Robb. I'm already a fan of Nora Roberts and that's how I found out about JD Robb. There's something about the relationship between Eve and Roarke that's so great to read... and best of all, none of my friends can call it a 'trashy romance novel' =P

Dkb said...

I love the candy thief. Cracks me up every time.

Amanda said...

My mom gave me the first book years ago and now we both can't wait until a new one comes out. I think she got me hooked just to have someone to talk about Roarke with ;)

My favorite thing about the series is how it starts with Eve having Mavis and Feeny that she considered close (though Dr. Mira was getting close). Slowly she's been building a family, and I think it's amusing when that fact sneaks up on her.

I LOVE the In Death series!!!! This series makes me laugh and cry and i HATE waiting for the new books to come out. I hope this series never ends! Also I'm pretty sure the new book is already out in the UK... To bad Amazon won't send it to me

I love Roarke. I want someone who will love me like he loves Eve. The loving relationships in the series makes me wish I had friends who loved me like that. The murder and humor is a bonus. This series and Nalini's books are ones I will buy in hardback! That's how good they are.

I love the In Death series. It was the first long term book series that I ever read. I love watching how the love between Eve & Roarke is ever growing and changing as well as how Eve comes to cope with her past & future.

Chapa said...

I love this series. I can't believe, after 30 odd books later it is still going strong. I love seeing how the character grow as the series go. It's amazing to see how far Eve has come since the first book. Plus it's got Roarke!! Who doesn't love him :P

I like her in Death series due to the various villains portrayed in each book which has their own unique MO as well as the futuristic setting that allows much scope for imagination.

Aaaah, excited!! xDD I love the books because of Eve's beautiful relationship with Roarke and her kickass personality!

Hi Nalini,
I have been reading the JD Robb books for years now. My favourite things about the series are of course Eve and Roarke. As someone previously mentioned; I love how much he loves her. However I also love love love when he's angry with Eve or they have a fight.Probably because that's more realistic than a Happy Ever After where the couple never argue! My other favourite part of the books is Peabody and McNab. They are so funny and I wish they had a bigger part in the books. And I really want a butler like Summerset and an Autochef and a car that drives! Phew! And I want that book! And Roarke is mine, all mine! (insert evil laugh here).

Jennifer Roman. said...

I have loved this series since when it first came out and the covers weren't as special as the motif used now. I like them because they can have you laughing one moment, crying the next, stressed, and adrenalized from page to page, just like life is sometimes. What makes the book is Eve and Roarke's dynamics, like a real relationship and marriage, and Eve and Summerset's dynamics. I hope Summerset never dies so we can still have literary gems in their conservations.

OH WOW! awesome giveaway! Thanks sooo much!

I love this series b/c I love getting to know the cast of characters. I love how Eve, Roarke, and the rest of the cast have grown. I love how after 30+ books, this series is on the very top of my must have list and still reads fresh and interestingly. Can't wait for this book!

P.S. I think that I like the non-US covers better!!!

I love the in death series. I love Eve and Roarke and the secondary characters too.

Jill said...

What's not to love? Action, humor, romance; it's all good.
P.S. Sounds like we're all going to have to have a rumble over Roarke :)

I love the mysteries of course, but most of all, I love the romance between Roarke and Eve. And no, I'm afraid Roarke is MINE! LOL.

I just found the series, having read of lot of Nora mainstream work. I love the characters, each very wary of getting involved, against the backdrop of variations of death.

I love Eve Dallas's smart ass, crusty persona ~ with her reluctantly mushy inside. I love that she's so confused sometimes that she's loved by all these people ~ and that she's overwhelemed by her love of Roarke. Nora can write relationships like noone I've read ~ she doesn't just pull you into the love story, she pulls you into every aspect of the characters lives, makes you laugh w/ them, be pissed at the candy thief w/ them, makes cheer for Peabody when she solves one on her own ~ I'm so invested in these characters, lol. I wait on tetherhooks for the next book each time...hoping she'll write a novella in between! Thanks for the chance to win!!

I love this series, mostly because of the dynamic between Eve and Roarke, but also the mystery and lovable secondary characters and Eves kick ass crotchety nature (a tough nut with a soft center )

Caro said...

ROARKE!!! Okay, I'm in lust with Roarke like a lot of others. JD has made him into a wet dream... His charm, intelligence, gorgeous looks, humor, and the list goes on have made me want a Roarke of all my own. I love watching everyone's interactions with him. Each new installment into the world of (Eve and) Roarke keep getting better and more inventive. :)

Always V said...

I'm crazy in love with both Roarke & Eve.
They've made me believe that there's THE ONE for you. When Eve looked into Roarke's eyes & saw his Gorgeous face for the very first time, she knew. The same way for Roarke. He has been carrying her ugly gray button as his charm since the first time they met.

THE TOTAL LOVE ASIDE... LOL ... I love blood-flowing mysteries.!! The futuristic time frame is ULT. LOL

I'm a fan - I love the idea that even in a much more mechanised future there are cops on the beat having to track down criminals by hard won clues.

This series just keeps getting better and better. And when you think there's nothing new to write about, JD Robb comes up with a brand new twist. The chemisty and interaction between the growing list of characters is incredible and so well written, I feel like I know them personally. JD Robb is one the the authors, along with you Nalini, that I buy the new books that come out, no matter what. They don't disappoint! Lois H

I love JD Robb's character development. The world building (which is great) is supported by non-two dimensional characters who are relatable.

The Dallas character is the most reliable in any series that I've read to date.
She always puts justice first, and rarely steps out of character.
I have every book except the Dallas Texas one.
I really like this series.

Hm, I´ve read various Nora Roberts books over the years but for some reason I´ve never picked up one the the J.D Robb books....so since I´m currently reading and loving a NOra Roberts series I´d definitely be interested to try one of the books she writes as J.D Robb, as well.....

I've read everyone and the thing I love the most other than the combo of mystery, romance aet in the future, is the fact that the author always manages to keep things fresh even after almost 30 books with the same characters. Highly recommend this series.

Linda said...

What I love the most about a JD Robb book is the combination of romance, suspense and mystery. And I love reading a series where you feel like with every book you get to know the characters a little more every time.

I'm still a few books behind by I really love this series. The growing relationship between Eve and Roarke and the great cast of supporting characters are the biggest draws for me. Plus, the books are just fun to read.

I love the Eve/Roarke relationship the most. It's a generally happy, stable marriage that's lasted for dozens of books while still remaining interesting. I wish more writers of long-term series would go this route.
