First, another link - Bridget Locke is running a contest over on her writing blog, so swing by that way and enter.
I'm buried under copy edits, so how about you all take over the blog for today? Seen anything interesting around the web? Read a good book? Tell us all about it!

Woohoo! Let's stage a takeover! Kidding, kidding.
Actually, I have a minor thing-I'm going to NY to help my older sis move. Anyone want anything for NY? Or anyone want anything from CA? This way, instead of mailing, I can just bring things for people.
Most of the stuff I've been learning on the web is rather disturbing. Oh, except the dig at Stonehenge. Can't wait to see what they find.
It's also been a bit quiet here lately...hmmm...
best to all~~~alice
Aw thanks, Nalini! :) Appreciate the linkage.
Not a whole lot going on in my neck of the woods...finally. Very tired though. Thank goodness for vacation time! Whee!
Been reading some phenomenal books lately. Just read the Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne. Really excellent book. :)
Hope you're doing well!
~Kaitlin
Got my copy of Magic Bites the other day (after I saw it featured on your blog), so reading that at the moment. I like it, it'll probably earn a spot on my keeper shelf, but there's a few things bugging me about it. I'd love to see more dialogue and less descriptions of stairways, corridors, rooms, etc etc.
i.e., more of Curran pleeeeease. *fans self* Hot damn.
Other than that, I just got a new phone so i'm getting a kick out of playing Sonic on it. It's like i'm 6 again! :)
Ohhhh, a blog takeover :) Hehehe - I hardly know what to post on my LJ :) Nalini - all the best with the copy edits...I would be more than happy to volunteer my assistance if required..although I am sure you have it completely under control :)
The thing that is gripping me at the moment is the discussion on Amazon and Dear Author regarding the manipulation of Amazon reviews, including the deletion of negative reviews. GULP!
Alice - all the best for your sister's move; Daphne - what sort of phone? (One day I'll replace mind [hopefully before the keys all stop working] :)
orannia
PS Daphne - if your icon Richard Armitage?
daphne, you are going to like Magic Burns better, methinks.
And I seriously need to read The Spymaster's Lady--it's been sitting in the TBR mountain for a while now...
I just finished Scion: Resurrections, the first in a trilogy by Patrice Michelle (Nocturne), and hope to dive into the second asap.
Orannia-I'm not Daphne, but yes, that is the super yummalicious Richard Armitage! :) Isn't he just...scrumptious? :D
Orannia - It's a pink Samsung D900i. And I have the opposite problem - I change phones far too often! I either lose them or get tired of them. Not at all good for my bank balance.
azteclady - I just ordered it. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Curran. (who wouldn't?) ;)
Tumperkin has started a serial spoofing Harlequin Presents. The first two installments are up at her site and at the Thrillionth Page.
They're hilarious.

Currently I`ve not much time to surf in the web.
But if someone want to read some macabre books I suggest
* Mark Nykanen: "The Bone Parade"
* Chelsea Cain: "Heartsick" (Part
one) and (I suggest thats the
english title of part two)
"Sweetheart".
* Laurence Haloche: "Der Mund".
.. but these books are really not everybodies "taste"...

I'd be happy to take over your blog. Blogger hijacked mine. Some stupid robot spam sniffer decided mine was spam. Grrrr.
Last book that really impressed me was Thin Ice by Liana Laverentz. Wonderful relationship romance. Good honest characterization.
Bridget - I'm so sorry! Obviously I'll pulled the wrong plus yesterday and disconnected by brain cells! You can't take me anywhere!
And yes, Richard Armitage is scrumptious (great word BTW :) We've just started the second season of Robin Hood in NZ and in the last episode we had a shirtless Richard....GULP!
MaryKate - thank you for the link!
Azteclady - what was Scion like please? Good? (I'm always on the look out for more books [although my library hold list reached 50 the other day :)
orannia *who is off to hunt down Magic Bites*
Oh, book rec's!
The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne (historical)
The Virgin River series by Robyn Carr (contemporary)
Grimspace by Ann Aguirre (sci-fi romance)
These are just a few, but they were all excellent! :)
Seconding Grimspace fervently over here.
And Julie Anne Long's The Perils of Pleasure is good as well.
azteclady - thanks for mentioning that Patrice Michelle had her next Scions book out. I hadn't even realised - just when I thought it was about time I started to get my TBR under control! I really enjoyed Scions: Resurrection. Must go and buy Scions: Insurrection.
Ack, I didn't see the Scions question yesterday! I liked it quite a bit, myself. You can see my review of it here: http://losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48177 The next one, Scions: Insurrection, comes out in May, and the third one in the Fall.
I really need to start on Robyn Carr's series--it's sitting there in the TBR mountain wailing mournfully.
marykate, you're horrible for pimping tumperkin's contest >_<, now I'm totally addicted! It's so funny!
Blog takeover announcement:
Firefox internet browser just released version 3.0!
http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/
It's a really user friendly internet browser and much better than Internet Explorer!! Plus, it has great add-ons and themes!
Also I'm going to Charleston, South Carolina in a few days. Anyone have any favorite things they like to do when they go to the beach? I plan on not getting sunburned this time!
